Description (This is Nite Owl's response to Laurie when she admires his secret hideout filled with crime-fighting gadgets.)

"What, with all these leaks and puddles?

No...maybe it used to seem like that to me once, but these days it's sort of an embarassment.

Looking back it all seems so...well, childish, I guess.

Just a schoolkid's fantasy that got out of hand."

Quoted from Nite Owl on page four of issue seven of Watchmen.

Nite Owl, his quote, and his design are (c) to Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, and DC Comics.

Art by me.

Thanks!

Anytime I show this drawing to anybody, that chest armor is always their favorite part. Which is nice because I worked pretty hard on that part.

Nice drawing...but boy is that white hurting my eyes...doesn't help that I have a headache already either. XD

Thanks. Heh, sorry about that. I want all of these portraits to have a harsh light source on them.

I'm sure you're headache is gone by now, so you should be able to look at him again.

Yeah, its gone now.

Awesome detail! Looks like it's from the novel itself.

Thanks! But the movie had a different design for him than the book.

...Then my comment is rather inaccurate. Looks like it's from the movie itself!

There you go. That animated short on newgrounds showed all of their original costumes.

HumaKaVoola In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-03-22 15:53:06 +0000 UTC]

So that's why they were slightly different, okay.

Atticus-Kotch In reply to HumaKaVoola [2009-03-25 14:57:05 +0000 UTC]

Yep. I'm kinda glad that they changed the costumes for the movie. They would've looked too goofy otherwise.

HumaKaVoola In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-03-25 18:58:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but it still might have worked, since the movie showed that everyone made their own outfits.

That is true. I really liked how Ozy isn't wearing bright gold and purple in the movie, but it's a shame that he wasn't a larger man. In the comic, he was still muscular.

That would have made a bit more sense, especially how he dealt with Rorschak and Night Owl.

That's exactly what I was thinking of. Though I imagine that he looked like that because it made it more of a surprise.

True, it did make it more of a surprise.

Indeed it did.

Hmm...wonder how that scene would have gone in a Saturday morning cartoon?

Atticus-Kotch In reply to HumaKaVoola [2009-04-01 00:28:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, there probably would've been a lot of talk about friendship and then a long monologue by Ozy.

HumaKaVoola In reply to Atticus-Kotch [2009-04-01 00:30:20 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, monologue is very important to villains so evil they seem almost good. Wonder why that is...

I think I'll follow suite and get offline shortly, I know nothing of this virus, but I'd rather avoid it than stress test my computer's security systems.

That is a good question. Maybe they are starting to reconsider what they did once the hero gets there. Though what Ozy did could be considered good...

Yep. I got a new deviation up today, so I think that's pretty good. I guess I'll see you later then.
