Description My neighbors boxer passed away about a year ago and when he saw the Keeshond I did he wanted one of his dog royce. Only problem his computer crashed and he lost all pictures of his dog. He said any boxer would do just to remind him of royce. So this is my attempt at a boxer. I used a a few random references from the net. Took me roughly 9ish hours :/

I'm happy with the turn out for the most part. I should have detailed the collar and his head seems huge BUT! I'm ok with this I am also aware he has no visible eyes but that's because I made the shadows so heavy on the face. Whoops.

Done in prisma premier black ink pens with some light graphite to aid the shading.

Real patience with your lines. Cool how they bend to show depth without having to go too heavy with black. This must've been really good material since you draw fantastical critters. Pickin' up anatomical points or a texture pattern is only natural. Keewwl! Very Nice work.

Thank you I'm very proud of this one. At first I thought the way I was going with the fur was going to steal from the realism but... it has a more stylized take to it which I guess makes it more my own so I'm really happy with him. I'm glad you like it!

FurSure, quite welcome! While I have a tremendous respect for the folks who do seriously photo-realistic stuff I personally like to see the work. It's cool to see an individuals line patterns and techniques that culminate into an image. In realism its not easy to show individualism in technique while maintaining the criteria of true realism. Almost like you set aside somethings in favor of techniques that help emulate one's reference subject(s). The stylized take you mentioned is probably a much better way to put it (sketchy on details but long on wind )
Hope to see more of your future critters and creations, Ciao

Yeah I agree it's an amazing talent but at the same time, if it comes out too real then.. well I have a duplicate of my photo (not that I can even come close to photo realism). Oh! hehe and kudos on using your ID name in there but I think you made a perfect point, thanks you for your comment!
