Still having fun with Dave's (LightBulbMoon ) great imageI've got pretty far from his original parameters but I did start there LOL. Still playing with rendering options and I think I really like this effect. In fact, I'm inclined to say this is my own personal favorite so far. I just love the chaos, and that it looks painted, not rendered.
Of course, I will have to point out that I am a Photoshop and postwork slut
So yes, I've mashed this around somewhat in Photoshop to enhance things that were already there Mostly filters and several types of curve adjustments.It's got some nice detailing in the main render, which was done at 6000px. Here is a section at 1:1 so you can see the detailing:

This is gorgeous. It does look like you painted, and it would fit perfectly in my livingroom! I love it!!!! (and great job with your frame. It's perfect with it's cutout shadow.)

When it showed up on my screen I started laughing and squealing LOL I was so excited to see it because in the little preview window... not lookin so hot.
So having all those crazy color maps is worth it, even though it takes so much longer to find something cause you just 'have' to see what the next one's gonna look like.
Thanks re: the frame. Yes, I'm back on a 'got to have a frame' kick. Gotta love Photoshop strokes on path for those confetti edge effects!

I did the color in M3D with one of my maps. This week I've been playing around with color maps and lighting to see what I could break

OH MY - talk about having problems with picking just one color... you are preaching to the choir.
I've got over 1000 color maps loaded and adding more each day. Here's an example of what kind of trouble I get myself into:
All that to do just one, simple, image LOL... I just HAD to keep trying different colors...

That's true... really hard to decide only one color so i always turn to ask my friend, which is a painter, for help.
sometimes it's easier to let someone else to make the choice~ LOL
BTW: dnt quite know what the meaning of "preaching to the choir", is this an American slang?
