Silly little King Louis and Queen Marie have found their way into my sketchbook.If you are interested in more silly sketch book things like this or just more drawings in general, I put them on my Tumblr [link] .... go ahead and follow if you'd like! I'm pretty active in the summer.

This is very beautifully done. I especially like the faces, they are drawn in a way that differs from my own portraiture, which is refreshing.

The four characters on the left side made a sentence which means：Honor the heavens above and love the people around you.
Those on the right side says: Her hair is like clouds and her face like flowers. That's a short quote from a chinese poem form the middle ages which tells a tragic love story of the emperor.
(The two sentences are not related.But I do think the one on the right side suits Queen Marie anyway.)

I agree - the quote would be more appropriate from the Count of Artois, Louis' brother who didi love women and was even a rumored lover of his sister in law the Queen.

Thanks! I actually do not know... I was eating at a cafe in Paris and it was painted on a wall in the corner. I was hoping to eventually find out what it said. I just drew over the page and it was still there... a mystery

Actually what you've got written there doesn't make a huge amount of sense! Just a string of random words that have nothing to do with the picture. (They're just words like "snow, hope, wish, lover", etc), and I truly mean no offense and this is a problem to anyone who doesn't know Chinese, but they're not written correctly much at all.
But that aside, this is amazing, I love Rococo-era things and these two and your art is just really great ;-;

hahha My sketchbook is full of random things I see places. I was just doodling some characters I saw on a wall at a cafe - I don't pretend to know Chinese. They have nothing to do with the other drawings, I just started working on a page that already had some stuff on it. Thanks thoughhh!
