Sailor Earth

Another entry for another one of Drachea Rannak's contests. Yay! [link]

Name: Terra Mulier

Age: 16

Birthday: Unknown (she doesn't like people making a fuss over it)

Birthstone: Unknown

Colour: Blue, green, brown, white

Technique: Blade of Anima- 'Spero de Anima' ; the jewel for her bow is a replica of the Earth and allows her to know the health of the planet in any given moment

Likes: Nature, Quiet places

Dislikes: Surprises, Crowds, People who hurt the Earth

Sailor Earth's duties are much, much different than the other Sailors. Earth only shows herself when a catastrophic crisis is on the way that will destroy the planet. Her job more than anything is to be a 'watcher' so she allows for the circle of life to take place as naturally as possible and cannot interfere. Another one of her duties is that she gives passage to the Sun to meet Sailor Sun if she deems it necessary, much like Pluto guards the Gates of Time.

Terra is a very shy and timid girl who doesn't interact very much with people. Because of who she is, she finds it very difficult to make friends. She enjoys being by herself more that anything, and as Sailor Earth it is very much the same. To enlist in her help, the other Sailors will have a hard time convincing her to help them, again much like the Outer Sailors were in the beginning.

About Design:

How does one design for a planet that has it all? How do you design for desert, forest, sky, fire, ocean, metal, clay, snow, rain, thunder and so much more all at once? How do you design for Life?

Well, I'm not sure if I did it at all.... Instead of making her all 'leafy' and green, because Earth is SO MUCH more than that, I decided to base her appearance on what the Earth looks like from space, as I did for Sailor Sun.

Obviously I wanted her to have a sword as well, to kinda go as a pairing with Sailor Sun. Plus she seems to be a very old fashioned girl who follows the rule book as if her life depended on it. A katana speaks of an 'old code' of honor and duty.

I wanted blue to be a very prominent color because like I said, the Earth is so much more than trees and green things. It's surface is mostly covered by water any how. I kept in mind the ice caps between the white stripe on her suit, white gloves, and the heels of her boots being white.

This one was a toughy. Much, much harder than Sailor Sun.
