Description
The patron goddess of the Satyr race is Sidhe, and her domain is of the air. Satyrs are not the first species she created, and on the whole represent an attempt not to repeat the mistakes she made in the past.
The elves were Sidhe's first creation. They were strong and proud, embodying the strength of a hurricane. And like a hurricane, they commanded the winds, putting them to use to lift their cities high up into the sky. The strength they commanded would cause them to dominate the world of Iphus like no other species, save for the dragons, and when the cataclysm came, it was the elves who fought the hardest the rid the world of demons.
But this would prove to be their undoing, for in the ferocity of the catclysm, the elves were wiped out, their cities rent asunder. They were to stubborn to retreat, too focused on their singular goal of stopping the demon king. When the last of the elves was killed, the goddess Sidhe was left to grieve her most glorious of creations. And in her grief, she gathered the strength to try again.
Once the cataclysm failed, the satyrs appeared from the ruins of the elven cities. They would build no grand halls, no great works of their own. Instead of commanding the winds, as the elves had done, they were attuned to the ebb and flow of the world, particularly where the winds blew. And so when the satyrs travel, for they do wield wind magic to keep their craft afloat, instead of bending the wind to their will, they simply amplify the will of the wind itself. And so they are a race of nomads, never long in one place, and as Sidhe had hoped, never long in danger.
The context for this particular image is that Audrey is getting a bit of a ride from a satyr she'd met, and is quickly finding out they are just as wild as the winds themselves.
