My half of an art trade with !! ireally like how this turned out!! i love the hair...the pink haired one is one of my OCs Nami!!
the Blueish haired one is her OC Necro!!

the funny thing was that we both had close to the same idea at first!! but my version had a chibbi Nami glomping a normal Necros face. so i redid it!! that way it wouldnt look like we were doing the same thing!!

This is cute but the shadows are really close to black and the highlights too close to white. Also the background is nice but it doesn't fit the style of the rest of the picture which kind of throws it off.

yes, i didntknow what to really do for the background, so i made it something i enjoy.
and i know what you are saying about the shading, but that was a bit intentional. i didnt want to make it too dark.if it was too dark you wouldnt be able to really tell the true colors and such.
it is just a contrast thing

You could have made a similar background in the same style as the characters, that would have fit better.
It looks like you used black and white to shade with, that's what I meant. You should very rarely use black and white when shading.

oh, i get what your saying.
but no, i never use those 2 colors when shading inless the coloris dark grey.i use darker or lighter versions of the base color. then i adjusted the brightness and contrast a bit, thats all.
and im not too good with making backgrounds 100% on my own. i have a big problem with water, that is why i used the water brush

I know the feeling, if I could just be magically better all of a sudden I'd be really happy.
At the same time though the fact it takes time and work makes it more worth it.
