Description

Regretfully, this is not actually my nightmare, just a fruit of my imagination. I almost never remember any of my dreams and it’s a real shame, it just feels like so much wasted material from which I could develop ideas. I only remember two dreams I have ever had: one involves counting logs, ten thousand of them in fact, and other had to do something with dotted lines. Weird. Well, perhaps this painting will become nightmare fuel for someone else and make them dream up something interesting instead of me.

Prints, phone cases and pillows( strangely appropriate I would say) are available at www.redbubble.com/people/augus…

When I was a little kid I had all sorts of horrific nightmares.
Count yourself lucky - I remember most of them and they were not pleasant.
However, they did expand my ideas about what a nightmare can be, so there's that.

You see, the thing is, that for some reason I am really desensitized to creepy and scary stuff, rarely anything makes me even slightly creeped out. I literary lough during horror movies. I don't know why it's like this, maybe because I seaked out creepy stuff because it's interesting and probably because usually I can think up of scarier stuff myself. Here is a test for you to see how desensitized you are to creepiness:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=CorUOs…
This is the creepiest music video I have ever seen by far and most people I showed it to, couldn’t even watch it. It even scared me a little bit the first time I saw it.
Also the dream I mentioned about counting logs is true and in the dream I actually counted to ten thousand without skipping numbers. It's quite unsettling in its own way.

I have to say, I am always amused by Aphex Twin. He creates stuff that can be considered disturbing but I always find it funny.
Windowlicker is my absolute favorite music video of all time!!!
I guess maybe I am fairly desensitized. Maybe it's due to all the nightmarish stuff from when I was little. Who knows.
The disturbing depictions of others generally do not disturb me anywhere near as much as my own mental aberrations do.
I guess psychological stuff is more disturbing to me - there is no escape, rescue or victory from your own mind.

There - that would be my twenty-five cents on that.

By some great mistake I haven't seen window licker video before, I don't know how that happened. It's pretty amusing, I can't argue and now I know why Google image search for aphex twin brigs up women with his face. In my opinion, the best part is when the limousine shows up. The weirdest and most interesting thing from aphex twin I have seen was when listening to one of his songs, the waveform from the music player sudenly turned into his face. I can't remember which song that was, but I'm sure I could easily find it on youtube if I wasn'r so lazy.

That sounds exactly like something he would do.

A black and white nightmare...interesting. I dream in color. I guess my nightmares are in color, too. High def? Hm.

Next time you dream, check the aspect ratio. If it's over 720, when you indeed are dreaming in HD. I on the other hand, have to make up my dreams because I can't remember them. Or perhaps I just dream in a very low resolution? Hmmmm...

Perhaps you're not plugged in. Always a good idea to check.

You know...oddly enough this would make for an interesting pillow or quilt.  A scary one.
There is a very unsettling piece.  I'm not sure if the nightmarish creatures are melting or fusing together, or if it's a true form and it's climbing up to meet my brain.  This gives me some Lovecraft vibes and the more I think about it...

...Yup, your mission has been accomplished.  I'm glad it's day time here

Technically this is very well done; beautifully drawn and colored.  Great work!
