so i kind of loosely based my manip off of this song. but this means a lot to me. to me, this contest theme, winter of love, represented providing sanctuary and comfort for each other even when the going gets tough. it's about sheltering each other from the storm and making your safe place together. and i know, it's a kind of weird style of pic.
it took such a long time to cut out those branches that are in front, XD. i individually cut out each segment to get it to go there. the reason that i have it there in the first place is to emphasize the protectiveness that the two horses have for each other, and even if you can't see every detail in the image because of the focus, you can still tell that they're there for each other.
ahaha, and it took me quite awhile to find wintery and snowy stock that hadn't been overused by everyone. go flickr!

This is so different than most equine manips out there. I frankly get exhausted of all the rearing against dramatic skies on cliffs or rivers... This is so calming by comparison. You have the two horses, as you say, together and sheltered by that frame of branches. The focus on that beautiful element really snatched my breath away. After a while it becomes quite a bit hard to stare at the blurred horses... however, that does not take much away from my first impression.
