That's hilarious!! Thanks so much! I think the render for this one was around 2-3 hours. Most of the pieces I render at the mid size (1600x1200) and I also tweak some of the calc parameters - Most notably the the raystep setting - sometimes I set that as low as .01 on pieces with a lot of detail ...

I go down to -2 on the Raystep sometimes..and still have the zig zag lines
I think it's just the formula sometimes.

Interesting, I've never thought to try negative values for that setting. I agree with you though, with some of the formulas it is tough to get a clear image - I've tried setting raystep as low as .001, and it still didn't take out all the 'noise' on some pieces. Oh well, when that happens, I usually just move on to something else!!
