How long was it? (Also, thanks for making a simpler version of the tutorial, I was confused, too!)

I can't say an accurate time because I made it a while ago, but not only that, I was making the tutorial while making it. So all that aside, it shouldn't take anyone longer than an hour and a half, but I feel like that's even pushing it. If everything goes right the first time around, I'd say an hour, a little less.

Well all the materials I used I placed in the tutorial and in the artist's description. You need hook and eye tape, and elastic in about 5 - 6 inches. Liquid stitch is optional, but not necessary.
The biggest point is the math that's involved. the elastic has to be 3/4ths of your measurement so take your chest measurement and multiply it by .75. Pin the hook and eye tape to each side and make sure it lines up correctly. Use a zipper foot and the smallest stitch you have on your sewing machine and slowly sew the tape to the elastic. That's honestly basically it.
I'll see if I ask ask someone to translate the tutorial and I'll upload that, but I can't promise on how soon that might be.

Ah, in case the you are living in Europe or Asia, the measurement is different from the American style of measurement. The one written on mine was 80 and I was quite shocked, but I used this converter here [link] and used the American measurement as my reference.

AuroraCelsius In reply to Kakee-Chan [2011-08-04 03:45:14 +0000 UTC]
Then you need to measure your bust as mentioned in the tutorial. As for as cup sizes go, that I can't help you with.

The only suggestion I can make is to actually get a compression shirt. But they can run you 30+ dollars and this method is so much cheaper.

himmelmiezchen In reply to AuroraCelsius [2011-08-02 18:34:30 +0000 UTC]
I'll look for some fabric, because I saw the prices for compression shirts xX and yeah, it's a little bit too much. I'll just try your tut.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AuroraCelsius In reply to himmelmiezchen [2011-08-02 19:20:25 +0000 UTC]
Well I'm not sure if fabric will work (depends one the type if it stretches) but yeah haha. That's the reason why I'm like I can make this for 1/3rd of the cost.
Good luck!

It looks slightly more comfortable that using those friggen ace bandages. :'D
Do you suggest any other method if you don't have a sewing machine, though?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AuroraCelsius In reply to jupiterdreamer [2011-08-02 01:13:24 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah! If you don't have a sewing machine, you CAN hand stitch it, but you have to make sure your handstitching is basically awesome. Mine sucks lmfao.
But if you want to continue to do the ace bandage thing, I had a method for that. I used the ones that sticks to itself. I put on a tank top, put the ace bandage on top of it and then a sports bra over that. I know it sounds like a lot, but it's pretty comfortable.

jupiterdreamer In reply to AuroraCelsius [2011-08-02 07:47:13 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for the advice!
Gonna stick with ace bandages for a bit but I'll most likely end up trying this one day :3

AuroraCelsius In reply to jupiterdreamer [2011-08-02 16:13:01 +0000 UTC]
You're welcome! Try what I mentioned, it'll be more comfortable because I learned the hard way about putting those ace bandages on your skin when you're sweating and it shifts.
Good luck!
