Description Charlize Theron again

About 20 hours, maybe a little more.
Alot of charcoal pencils aswell as a B graphite pencil and 3B graphite mechanical pencil.
On stonehenge paper.

(Gah. That chunk out of the side in this version [link] ] is proof that my cat likes eating my artwork.)

how did you get such detail in her hair while using charcoal?

Not all of it is charcoal, only the darker bits like the dress and her eyes.
I used a mechanical pencil for her hair.

No, I haven't. I don't really like art classes or the idea of someone trying to tell you what or how to draw..

I'm a total n00b at drawing with charcoal .. It's really smudgy and messy. do you use anything to fix it (to stay on the paper)?

Just hair spray.
But charcoal in pencil form is a lot less messy =]

Charcoal pencil is pretty rare in here.. but I found some in a store it's so much fun to draw
I asked my teacher too, and he told me he uses hairspray too. So I gave it a try. It works
