thank you! I absolutely love the idea of painting the ocean as a kind of inverted world like this... I want to put in perspective how alien a life underwater is to us land-dwelling creatures ;9

HOLY SHIT THE WATER SURFACE LOOKS AMAZING!!!Β
Especially since both the top and underside are being shown, it looks incredible! Especially the faint glow on the surface c:Β
The colors are also wonderful! Night time scenes are always the hardest for me to shade lol but you nailed it wonderfully!Β

WAAAA THANK U;;;
and oh gosh yea, it's really hard to imagine what colors/lighting you should use on a night scene that's UNDERWATER... I really want to do more like this, it's an interesting challenge

aaaAaHHh this is such an intriguing painting, I love it! I like to take pieces like this and flip them right side up again, to see what they look like then. It's funny how they can have a totally different mood. Here too, somehow them being upside down makes everything a lot more mysterious and, I dunno, mystical? So, very good choice to put (or keep) this one upside down.
The water here is just like HOLY SHIT. I know how immensely troubling water surfaces can be to paint, but my oh my you have nailed that shit. Especially on like the wave that's closest to us, the one we see from 'above water', man the details there are just mesmerising. I love how you used all those different colours for the little waves, especially that bright azure blue coupled with the highlights. And blurring parts of the water creates this really great sense of depth which is simply wonderful.
And lastly, those dolpinhs - ahhhhh. I have such an enormous fondness for Common dolphins, and you certainly did them justice. For some reason I especially like the way you drew Aura's face, with her little white cheek and that sideways looking eye above it. Very, very nice painting!!

thank you!! I've wanted to paint an 'upside-down' pic like this for ages because of all the scenes from ocean documentaries filming shots like it - makes it look like they are flying above the surface of the water rather than below it!
