Wow! This really is amazing, for lack of a not-cheesy adjective. I thought it was a photograph in a smaller view.

Hello
Would you mind if I emulated the use of color and your compositional structure as you have here in this piece for school? I am an undergraduate illustration major; this is for my drawing 3 class.
I would create an image rather different from yours in content and meaning, but I would utilize the compositional structure and color pallet you have used here. I would need to make color prints for reference.
If you would be willing to allow me to use your piece as an inspiration, I would of course give credit to you in any publication.
Please consider and get back to me as soon as Tuesday, October 7, 2008. I do apologize for giving you such short notice and hope that you have time to contemplate and respond to my request.
Thank you in advance for your time,
-Emma

Amazing. . . At first, and as everyone else who saw/seeing this picture, thought it was a REAL photo. You have a gift, my friend. Wow. . . So realistic.

it's so gruesomely beautiful..

understanding your meaning behind this, the beauty of the reality of the painting(realism), the harsh view and the dramatization give the mouth and words that come from it, their own identity and power. sometimes it -is- what we say that makes the difference. communication shouldn't be underestimated, and neither should what it can bring. you illustrated the proverb beautifully.

Amazing painting. I imagine a man trying to shout but something like a green virus-elf itches his throat and eats his voice, and the elf speaks the words he wants with his acute voice. I think that green thing pending seems like a naughty wicked elf.

Hey buddy, you have talent my good cousin. Aside from the obvious (That it is a fantastic painting in both compisition and quality of craftsmanship) there is so much content here. The simplicity of the sprout from the mouth how so much underlying meaning... from the words that we speak and how it affects us to the words that we hear and how we respond to them. THAT is what makes art, art. Not simply painting a mouth, but having that content... making the viewer question and ponder. I am so proud. YOU are a great artist my friend.

The position of the mouth,
and the plant.
It's almost too lifelike.

I feel it has something to do with words and a larger meaning. Fascinated.

something along the lines of every cloud has a silver lining, or something to that affect. light at the end of the tunnel. bliss at the end of a mouth.
although, however, green's normally used to represent envy. but i suppose thats a western thing.

nonetheless, i'm no art critic, but this doesn't look painted at all, which just adds to it's grandness. brilllliant work

WOW such amount of details is what makes this drawing superb!
keep it up mann, you have your artistic future saved.

and reading the comment above about the meaning of Korean proverb makes it more appealing to my eyes. Some artists use some weird titles with no meaning whatsoever; you, in the other hand, do.
I cant hardly come up with a short and quick comment here; I could go on and on about it, but It would not look so good in your page and you might igonre it, so if you want to read what I really think, let me know.
this is just the beginning of an essay I can write about this amazing piece.
and sorry for faving first, commeting later.
My eMachines is starting to suck, and Firefox is my only browser because the update for internet explorer makes it look even more shitty than before. Its all because of the Active X controls...and manually activating them.

rockerbaby14 In reply to Ausila [2006-06-29 22:04:03 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad. I didnt meant to offend you by that, but usually, when an artist is featured, all the comments made are ignored. Thats what DeviantART for, and some people still dont get it. Again, I made a huge mistake by saying you will ignore it, but I didnt know you were one of the few artists who really appretiate comments and suggestions.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ausila In reply to rockerbaby14 [2006-06-29 22:43:08 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't presume any intended offense I've never gotten so many comments before today, and I could see how some would get in the habit of ignoring some of them. And as for your criticism, it's quite welcome. If nobody critiqued my work, I'd still be drawing anime.
