Oro (they/it), a fan character for Murder Drones.
A disassembly drone gone rogue. They are obsessed about others' stories, and think of stories and memories as the true essence of one's being; they think of the body as only a vessel.
While still following their directives, they grew somewhat curious about other drones and began observing them. They still killed without remorse, but they began to collect memories, too - and, over time, they found those memories more delicious than the oil they needed to live. They began to cultivate the egos of those they'd consumed, and sometimes changed their personality to one of those drones and/or merged personalities, whether with their own or with multiple other personalities.
They eventually decided that killing so freely was boring, and went rogue. Depending on their whims, they might decide to protect a worker colony or even just one drone, or work together with a disassembly squad (or just one of them). They are quite polite and their actions might come across as protective or affectionate, though they'll often ask for a sip of oil.
Abilities
They have modified themself extensively. Their overheating issue is reduced but not removed; as part of that, they usually deconstruct their more advanced optics, relying on more rudimentary sensors. They can consume the oil of other disassembly drones in addition to that of worker drones.
By interfacing with other drones (which can forcefully be done by biting), they can access others' memories and upload a program that allows them to read the other drone's thoughts and access more and more of their memories over time. After one bite, Oro begins the process of devouring an interesting story... at the end of it all, more often than not, the drone—worker or disassembly or anything else—becomes absorbed into Oro's ego. That said, there are a few where Oro decides it's more interesting to leave them separate—still, that hidden code can maintain the connection.
Design Notes
- They can be drawn with or without their true eyes - the "headband" on their head.
- Like other disassembly drones, they can change their hands to other weapons and tools.
- In more casual environments, they'll put away their main wings but they tend to keep their head wings out.
- They change their glow color and hairstyle when shifting to a different personality/ego.
