Whew, so now that I’ve cleared my mind a bit, I can finally tell you guys about some good news that happened to me today. Just in time for Easter weekend, I have acquired a new sitting Pokémon plush: a Heracross! It took about two weeks of waiting but I’m happy to have finally received him in the mail. Since my other sitting plushes are of Pokémon introduced in either Sinnoh or Unova, I wanted to get one of a Pokémon from a different region. There are none from Generation XI or later yet, so I decided to go for the iconic Bug/Fighting-type first introduced in Johto. Heracross is my favorite Bug-type and I’ve long found it to be a cool-looking and resilient Pokémon. As recently as The Indigo Disk, a Heracross I used was quite helpful in my battle against Amarys, one-shotting her Reuniclus and her Empoleon with Megahorn and Close Combat, respectively, and it was decisive in my battles against Nemona and Pecharunt in Mochi Mayhem.

I ordered my Heracross plush off a website known as Ichibi Japan, which was the only site I could get it at reasonable affordability. Good thing too, as it was one of just five they had left in stock! I nicknamed my new plush Hercules, primarily inspired by its Mega Evolution. Mega Heracross is partly designed after the Hercules beetle, one of the strongest animals on Earth weight-for-weight, and Mega Heracross certainly looks brutish. But even basal Heracross is renowned for strength, with some of its Pokédex entries noting it can hurl opponents up to 100 times its mass with its horn (not too far off with Japanese rhinoceros beetles, which are very strong too). And since Mega Evolution (and Heracross) are confirmed to appear in Legends: Z-A, it felt like an appropriate name (that plus it was the most, uh, mature-sounding name I could think of). A bit late from my order date, but I’m happy to welcome Hercules to my Pokémon plush collection.
