For my last Pokémon drawing for the month, I wanted to go old school and draw something from gen 1. What better choice than my day one Charizard. Not gonna lie, I was feeling a bit nostalgic and sentimental when I drew this one where I remembered the time when I first played Pokémon Red and chose Charmander as my starter.

Like most Pokémon fans, I imagined how cool it would be to be an actual Pokémon trainer and flying on your Pokémon like Ash/Satoshi from the anime.

All of those feelings and memories inspired this piece and it reminded me why I liked Pokémon in the first place: The young and adventurous spirit full of ambition to go befriend and train your Pokémon, beating the gym leaders, and saving the world.

Drawing these Pokémon throughout the month rekindled my love for the franchise and I’m glad I got to indulge a little bit into some fond childhood-teen memories. Best believe Imma do more in the future because I ain’t done yet.
