Hurricane Idalia passed by Florida this past week, as many of you probably know. We were okay here in the Tampa Bay area except for some pretty significant water rise in a few low-lying coastal areas. The waves really washed a lot of sand and dunes off the beach, which I'll post a journal entry about with some wild pictures in a little while. But the sunset last night was stunningly beautiful, and I took a lot of pictures of it! Including this one which I shot through a hunk of vegetation that was either exposed by the erosion or was deposited on the beach by the surf; I'm not quite sure which.

The storm really did some damage up in northern Florida around the small towns of Perry, Steinhachee, and Cedar Key, and these towns really need some help. If you can, please consider giving to the Red Cross at Hurricane Relief Donations & Ways to Help | American Red Cross . Even a small donation would be helpful. I'm currently planning to set up a table at Pinellas Park's September "Third Saturday" and will donate a significant portion of my sales to the Red Cross. Best wishes and prayers to anyone who was impacted by this storm.
