Description Within arms length, but oceans out of reach
I try and clasp her hand, but grip the skies
I catch the whisper of her righteous screech
My sun’s light shines; I know not when she dies

We steal a kiss and share a warm embrace
But sneak past continents, lest we be seen
My one and only homage to her face
A thought, a glimpse, a day that might have been

The letters fade and crumple, and my heart
Cannot recite her touch, her taste, her scent
The angel, who did yesteryear depart
Has left an amnesiac’s lament

If she did love me still, would she not speak?
A breath that blows across some mountain peak

Lost love is a thing that can destroy the best of us... very moving.

The imagery is pretty cliche in this piece, but damn If I'm not a sucker for this piece's content. Good job.

Aaaw, that's a very nice thing to say but... have you actually read any of my work ?

I have indeed, I would certainly not presume to lie to you. Is that question been asked because you doubt the quality of your work?

My dear, I am truly regretful that you have had to endure this type of pain.
The true comfort of it, though, is that you can create marvelous works of art.
I was once told that from true pain comes great art, and your piece is living proof of that.
Keep writing, though I do hope that you'll have happier subjects to post about soon.

As do I. i can't help but feel that I may have been over reacting, but I seem to embrace my emotions more intensely than I should, leading me to become more attached and eventually more hurt by it. Thank you for the kind words, my dear

To err is human, and to feel pain is also human, my friend.
To be more in touch with your emotions is not always a bad thing...it allows us to feel empathy.
I am sorry that you get hurt, because a person such as yourself should never feel that kind of pain.
However, there is a bright side: what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger.
Fortitude, my dear...you have a wealth of it.

Indeed, lucky me I'm glad I experience the pain, it purges my naivety and gives the the strength to not fall for such trickery again, even though I know I will

We are all human, dear.

Don't punish yourself for falling of the horse sometimes...

I'm fine with that, but why does the horse have to trample me, and I keep letting it trample me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyshoshana In reply to autumn-cannibal [2007-08-20 17:32:02 +0000 UTC]

That is a question you must answer yourself: perhaps the horse tramples upon you because you allow it to do so.

So, instead of lying there, should you move?

What would happen if you just...changed your point of view?

I am sure that your words touch emotions inside all of those who read them.
A great job indeed.

It's kind of effect where you yearn not to let it happen to you, even though it is inevitable.
It made me feel grateful for eveything I still have.
So it's a good thing!
