Description You know, having not watched any anime for a long time, and then suddenly revisiting something that I was obsessed with when I first started drawing made me really take a look at how my drawing style has fluctuated over the years.
Being that my style originated with very simplisticly shaped robot people, and then eventually anime people (mainly Inuyasha and Sailor Moon were my major influences in the beginning.)
Over time my style tried to be more realistic. I tried to go toward square-enix and Kagaya's styles, but the more I learned in semi-realism, the more I envied those who draw in an anime style.
So I took a step back to where I started, and attempted to copy a bit of Hiromu Arakawa's style in FMA, but working the characters with as little reference as I could stand. Al was exceptionally hard in this regard. I cheated a few times and looked at images of his armor so that I didn't deviate too much.
Honestly, I like the sketch version of this much better than the quick color job I did, but in either case, I really feel like this picture shows how much my art has grown in the last five years.

Also!! First drawing with Paint Tool SAI, so if you have any suggestions please shout them out! I could really use the critique!
