Description
Time: After Sasuke left Orochimaru and went back to Konoha
Venue: Orochimaru’s secret hideout, meeting room 3
Subject: Emergency meeting

Kabuto looked up from his notebook where he would write down the minutes of meeting. Orochimaru was pacing around the room and muttering to himself.

“Orochimaru-sama, I can’t write down notes for the meeting if you are going to mumble the whole thing under your breathe,” Kabuto pushed his glasses up and stared at his master as he suddenly came to a stop. ‘He’s been acting weird since Sasuke-kun left… Maybe he misses him too much…’

“Orochimaru-sama, forget Sasuke! I’m right here! You can divert your energy and affections to ME!! I’ll stay by your side forever!!” Kabuto started to run towards Orochimaru who turned around and slapped Kabuto in the face.

“I’ve got it, Kabuto! I’ll… I’ll… Kabuto? What are you doing on the floor for?” Kabuto stood up and brushed his clothes clean. ‘He wasn’t listening, was he…’

“I’m fine, Orochimaru-sama. Go on.”

“As I was saying, I have concluded that since Sasuke-kun left me, I am no longer strong enough to go around destroying villages and showing off Sasuke-kun, therefore I did not commit any crimes once he stepped out of this compound. So to become stronger once more, me, Orochimaru, will join the Akatsuki!” Orochimaru laughed his head off as Kabuto tried to copy his speech down, word by word.

“Orochimaru-sama? What makes you think that they would accept you back? Since you were the one that left them in the first place,” Orochimaru laughed even louder.

“You’ll see, Kabuto… You’ll see…” Orochimaru left the room, his laughter bouncing off the walls of the corridor.

A few days later
Kabuto panted as he ran as fast as he could, pumping chakra into his legs to speed himself up. ‘This isn’t how the plan should work!!’

Flashback
“Plan A – Go up to the Akatsuki and plead for a position there as a medic-nin. When yo have gained their trust, suggest that I should be reinstated as a member of the Akatsuki. Surely they would not refuse!!” Orochimaru instructed Kabuto in detail of  how to ‘coax’ the Akatsuki to allow him to join them…

The sound of cloaks moving were obvious, they were catching up!! Kabuto looked back to see how close they were to him and tripped on a fallen branch, thus falling face flat on the ground. Deidara and Tobi skidded to a stop right next to him.

“I thought Orochimaru’s little play toy would be so much better than this. Yea…” Deidara stood over Kabuto and smirked. “Tobi, I’ll let you train with the use of this Akatsuki wannabe.”

“Then can I join the Akatsuki?” Tobi looked at Deidara who ignored his question.

“Who do you think you are? Kicking me around like that! Orochimaru-sama will squish you and all you Akatsuki members one day!!”

“One day, play toy… One day.... Tobi, we have to report back to Leader. NOW,” Deidara teleported and obi followed right after.

“Orochimaru-sama… I’ll get you for this…” Kabuto stood up and dusted off his clothes before heading back to headquarters.

Somewhere… Orochimaru’s hideout
“Kabuto, you failed. Again… I should not had relied on you, Sasuke-kun is so much better…” Orochimaru paced the room once more as Kabuto was ‘repenting’ for what he messed up.

‘Argh… Sasuke again… Sasuke this, Sasuke that… And I’m the one who stood by his side…’ “Orochimaru-sama? Can I rest now?” Kabuto’s knee trembled as he balanced a bucket of water on his head as punishment from his master.

“I’ve thought of a new plan! We’ll find Uchiha Itachi and tell him that Sasuke-kun is so much stronger than last time and that we will locate Sasuke-kun for him if he lets me join the Akatsuki… Lead the way, Kabuto. Surely you know where their hideout is…”

Kabuto placed the bucket onto the table and stretched. “Of course I do, Orochimaru-sama… I’ll bring you there…”

A week later
“Where the Hell are we, Kabuto? I told you to bring me to the Akatsuki, not to a desert!” Orochimaru was practically dragging himself forwards while Kabuto was face down on the sand, already floating in the middle of life and death.

“I know it’s here somewhere! That’s what I found out from Sasori…”

“That was years ago, Kabuto… If  you think before you act, we won’t be here! Let’s retreat… We’re in no position to see Uchiha Itachi like this, if a battles starts, we’ll lose in a blink,” Orochimaru turned around and his face met with a foot. Which led to a coat that was black and red. “Speak of the devil… We’ll just leave… Come on, Kabuto…”

“I give up, Kabuto. Let us just pray that either Sasuke-kun would return to us or that the Akatsuki would suddenly appear at our doorstep and ask us to join them…”
DING~DONG~
“I’ll go get the door, Orochimaru-sama. It’s…it’s… You better come here, Orochimaru-sama! ”

Orochimaru, curious, headed towards the main door and took a step back in surprise… At his door was… the Akatsuki, Deidara, Itachi and Kisame, all in their familiar black cloak.

“Leader wants us to tell you something,” Kisame looked towards Deidara who just smirked.

“Leader says that you can join the Akatsuki again despite your lousy antics to get his and our attention once more, yeah…”

“Heard that, Kabuto?! They’ll allow us to join the Akatsuki once more!! Oh, celebration is in need!! Come in, come in, dear guest…  Let us bask in the joy of mine…” Orochimaru waved for the three to enter but not one bulged…

“In a million years. Deidara left that out,” Itachi turned and left with Kisame and Deidara who were laugh their lungs out. Orochimaru staggered a few steps backwards and had Kabuto to help him to a chair. He was once again muttering to himself and Kabuto went to get tea.

“They don’t want me anymore… In a million years… No… I’ll do my best… Kabuto! Get me Mr Teddy!! Only he understands me…”

“I understand you too… Orochimaru-sama! Why do you even talk to a stuffed toy?! It’s a toy! Talk to me! I’ll always be here for you!!” Kabuto burst into the room carrying a hot pink stuff bear.

“Well… Unlike you Kabuto, Mr Teddy doesn’t say any mushy, corny stuff and plus, he won’t mess things up for me!!” Orochimaru snatched the bear out of Kabuto’s arms and started to whisper into his ear… While Kabuto went off to a corner to sulk. The weeks that came, the whole episode repeated itself once more.
