Completely nailed the crit on this piece. It is a mix between the Grateful Dead and the classic skeletal, anatomical art of Vesalius' "De Humani Corporis Fabrica".
A perfect, brooding mix!

If I could've given this piece more stars for impact, I would've gladly done so.Β I ADORE monochromatic/duotone/tri-tonal pieces of art like this, especially ones with such an emotional impact as this!

Le Morte d'Canadian Corp. The pride of the North American side laid low in crimson pools as precursor to all those poppy fields blooming brightly before the boulevards ofΒ Passchendaele. No doubt the contemplative corpse reflects upon that promise of the war to end all wars. I think that theΒ fragranceΒ of the sanguinary flower unlikely serves as an effective opiate to deaden the pain of the past for this fellow who hasΒ allowed us the full portion, Β his last full measure of devotion, toΒ hopefullyΒ enhance our memory. I wonder if we do what we ought to allow him to lie quiet in a questionable crypt.Β

Your skeletal anatomy is solid overall - the cranium especially.

Thank you very much - it's something I've been working on quite a bit over the year. I'm glad you think so. (:

If you are looking for good reference material, and don't already know about it, Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy has great drawings. Β Of the whole body - so soft tissue as well, but the bones are also there (articulated and some separate, too). Β Great for joints, including the wrist.
Sorry... big, big nerd, here. Β I *love* the simplicity of the stylized wrist in this piece.

It's a medical school anatomy atlas - but Dr. Netter was, in many ways, an artist first, and then a physician. Β So he has a great eye for style as well detail - in addition to science/facts/etc. Β There are probably other books that target anatomy for artists more than that one. Β It's also in it's 6th edition now, so earlier editions are often not very expensive used.
