Oh you have one too huh?  It is a full size poster?  You'll know if the poster is double sided.  Those are actual movie posters.  Mine is one size down from full size because I didn't want to go nuts looking for a frame for it.  But I have a few rolled up posters as well. I have one for Strange Magic, Thor: Ragnarok and Solo still rolled up.

Thank you!

Yes, all items will become very collectible, especially now since they are going to release Maleficent 2.  Can't wait for that one!

Oh it's just a regular one I bought from the store, her with her wings spread wide.
At the time I bought it I had just had my baby and we moved into the house my in-laws owned, and my brother-in-law had to move in too until he got his own place, so boxes were everywhere and most of my stuff was in storage except clothes (that I could fit into) and just a handful of important things. So I never risked opening her up only for something to happen.
And now that we're house hunting and planning on moving out of said current residence, I'm just gonna wait until we get into the new house.

Oh that's nice.  I like the pictures of her with her wings open.  They are so huge!

I have the regular movie poster:

www.impawards.com/2014/posters…

It's identical to that one, but in English.  (For some reason, I couldn't find an image of the the English one!).   That one is up on the wall as it is in a frame.  But the others I don't have a fream for and they are still in the tube roll.  I many ways I am in a similar situation to you.  I am in an apartment that I don't like and I want to move my family into a house.  Then I can go buck-wild with putting the movie posters up.

I have to be careful, I mean not only do my husband and I have some cool ass posters we want to showcase, but we have an energetic 5yr old girl who has to touch everything, get close to everything, and take anything not nailed down.
Hence why my doll room has a child proof knob on it. Lol.

Oh yeah, I know that ordeal with dealing with toddlers.  My boys really weren't ones to open drawers or go into closets or rooms they were not supposed to.   Yet we did have the kitchen cabinets with toddler locks.  You probably know the kind in which you need a magnet to open them?

However, if there was something out in the open that caught their attention, by hook or by crook they would do anything possible to get to it.

My kid is smart. Scary smart. Sure, every parent brags about their smart baby but i tell ya, that kid is a problem solver. She has her own tablet and she actually googled where the church is my in-laws take her to when she visits them. She knows it by name so she told google aand then brought it to me to show me and I'm like, ×@:#×$€×/ how do you know how to do that?!? So the doorknobs are needed. Lol.

If it is only her with no siblings, then I can see that.  Usually siblings causes enough distractions around them that they are not as adventurous.  But a good mind on his or her own will wander and see what they get into.   As it is not apparent by now, my boys are twins.  So they are the same age and have similar interests and they kind of 'feed off' each other.  So unless something was out in the open that caught their attention, to this day they don't snoop around in cabinets or drawers or anything else they are not supposed to.

I didn't give my kids tablets until they were 10.   But yeah, give a kid a piece of technology, they will figure it out.   While they were using my wife's and my computer at an earlier stage, it was for educational purposes only and if they tried to stray away from the program, the computer would lock them out.

Anything that requires payment for something, such as Ebay or Amazon, that's locked out.  The last thing I need is for them to BUY something just by poking around on a site.  Since they have a Playstation 4, they DO know how to do this, but naturally it is password protected so they cannot get in with out Mom and Dad being around.

The one thing I can't stand though is You Tube.  They are SO lax in their language policy and pretty much let any yanus curse up a storm on their site.   I mean they have the software to lock on to and block a certain video or song.  Why can't they do the same when someone utters profanities?  Go figure!

Nice chatting with you by the way!  I guess you probably figured out by now that I do have a doll collection of sorts. I don't have many and it is just the Disney Princesses and the only villains I have are Mother Gothel and I have the two variants of Maleficent.   I would like one of Ursula though.

Funny I did a search on the Disney site and get a load of what I came up with:

www.shopdisney.com/ursula-wate…

Yeah, a water bottle with the designer style of 'thin' Ursula.    BTW, to me this does go against the grain, since Disney did create a thinner version of Ursula in Morgana, Ursula's somewhat inept sister:

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/vi…

So this could be some cause for confusion for those that have not seen the second Little Mermaid movie.

It's only her, an only child and she's a total social butterfly while my husband and I are more introverted. Lol
I've had a series of health and medical issues so I'm not as willing to be outside as much as I used to, a sciatic nerve will act up or I'll get a migraine with the weather change, not to mention my asthma. Not that we don't try to get her into playdates but I've got a neighbor two houses down that just kept coming up with excuses-and she was the one who initiated the fucking thing!
Ugh, anyway.
The tablet is under a parental lock, the only things she can access are youtube kids and her games, as well as google. My mom made the mistake of letting her play with her phone and she bought stuff and hiked up my mom's bill. And my father-in-law let her play with his phone and she downloaded games she wanted onto it....smh...So she needs constant supervision or checks and balances. She can watch her PBS Kids programs and blind bag openings and people playing with slime, lol.
When we decide to sit together as a family we'll switch the tv over to internet and watch youtube. Sometimes it'll be compilation videos of fails and there's the chance of a swear word slipping through, we just tell her not to say that but it's nothing she hasn't heard me say before. I swear like a sailor. I try my best to say something else, I really do.
I really love the Little Mermaid sequel (my major complaint though is the lack of geographical reality. I mean come on, Melody manages to make it to the Arctic in nothing more than damp undergarments, turns into a mermaid, swims with a walrus and penguin, which all happen to be relatively close to her father's castle-which we know is in Denmark-a Mediterranean climate and there's ice floes everywhere?) Other than that I think it's great. Return cast members, equal quality animation, and decent songs.
I have quite enjoyed our little chat, especially knowing you're a fellow Disney afficianoto like myself.

LOL!!   So she bought stuff using the phone, huh?

My TV is like that too, it has an  internet connection so I can watch Youtube and Netflix.  Speaking of which, Stranger Things Season 3 4th of July!  Yep, big Stranger Things fan.

We don't really curse in my household, but my boys are on YouTube all the time and they CONSTANTLY curse there.  Of course I tell them too not to reiterate anything they hear that's objectionable otherwise if they do, I will be standing there with bar of soap in hand.

I liked the Second Little Mermaid myself.  It wasn't as good as the first one.  But the characters were overall pretty good.  I liked Melody and Morgana.

Oh yes.  Big on Disney.  In fact I been doing some Disney research of late too.  One being the 20000 Leagues Under The Sea Ride they used to have at Disneyworld in Florida.  I never knew such a ride existed!  I was at Disney in 1999 and it was a mere 5 years before in 1994 when they closed the ride down.

So they have a whole website based on the ride and I been on that site the past few days.  Very interesting stuff and I am a bit miffed that they pulled the ride out.  It looked very impressive.

The big ones do. but sometimes you can find a really nice smaller park and they are reasonably priced.  Thankfully I have one such park near where I live.  They have gone up quite a bit over the years, but they are still much cheaper than Disney or a Six Flags park.

It's been about 15 yrs since I last went to 6 Flags over Texas. There are also some unpleasant memories tied up with that trip so I don't look back on it too much.
Living in Oklahoma, the closest amusement park I think is either in Kansas or Missouri...

RavenDiablo In reply to autumnrose83 [2019-06-28 15:40:25 +0000 UTC]

Understood.  Honestly the only thing GOOD about Six Flags parks are the roller coasters.   The food is not good at all there and there are often long lines to get on the newer coasters.  They call themselves a theme park, but it is far and few between with them.  Yes, they sometimes have themed areas and a ride that is nicely themed, but there is really no central theme to the park itself.  Six Flags parks should be in the genre of 'Thrill Parks'.   Outside of Disney, one of the better themed parks are the Busch Garden's parks, with the one in Virginia being the better of the two.  In sort, that park is king of like the Pavilion of Nations at Disney's Epcot.   In fact Busch Garden's had the idea long BEFORE Disney.   I am sure Disney took note and then they upped the ante and made their Pavilion of Nations bigger and had more featured nations.   With Busch Gardens, the main anchoring theme is...you probably guessed...gardens!   The park is beautifully landscaped and the gardens even rival those at Disney.  They have small outdoor shows that are usually set within the gardens.   The themed areas are nice too. However, they only feature about 5 or 6 countries whereas Disney is doubled that easily.

So you are in the Texas area.  If I am not mistaken that Six Flags park is home to the Texas Giant  (well the revamped one anyway), a formidable coaster and well known coaster.   I live not to far from a world famous roller coaster.   I will let you guess which one I am referring to.

I went to Busch Gardens as a child. I moved a lot(military brat) so there's been lots of places I've been. I've also been to the Budweiser Brewing Factory. I got a horse while each of my brothers got beer can shaped piggy banks as souvenirs.
Been to the Jelly Belly Factory in Sacramento a few times, my late grandmother would take me.
I'm actually not a rollercoaster person, they terrify me. I remember Marine World Africa USA befire Six Flags bought and installed the coasters. That's in my hometown of Vallejo California. I got to ride an elephant, pet a dolphin and a giant porcupine. And the butterfly exhibit is one of my favorite places. Those are the memories I'll treasure.
I honestly don't even know rollercoaster names so I can't guess...

I believe the Budweiser brewery is on one (if not both)  Busch Garden's properties.  However, the do have several dotted throughout the U.S.  I think there is one in New Hampshire and also in New Jersey.  The main one is in St. Louis Missouri...more than likely that was the one you went to.

I have been to Hershey Park and they have an attraction there in which they take you through the factory ala dark ride style and show you how the chocolate is made.  It is interesting to note that the ride doesn't go through the actual factory and it is a separate building next to the park.   Another interesting park detail is that the monorail in the park has a stop at the actual factory.  Supposedly, Hershey Park was mainly created for their employees and it was a regular walk through park and it had a petting zoo as well.  They also had a carousel.   It was mainly created as for employees to have their break in or they could bring family too.   I think at one time they DID have tours of the factory as well.  But that caused issues and why they created an actual ride later on.

Marine World sounds familiar, but I have not been to any parks on the west coast as of yet.  If I did get out that far, I would love to go to Magic Mountain and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  And yes, that is mainly for the coasters.   The Santa Cruz Boardwalk has a really old one, but also a good one called the Giant Dipper.

In terms of parks with Animals, there is a park in Florida called Jungle Gardens that is also nice. In New York there are several zoos, such as the one in the city, the Central Park Zoo.  But bigger and better than that is the Bronx Zoo.   On Long Island all the way out on the east end is a place called the Long Island Game Farm and I been to that one several times.  I also been to the Bronx Zoo.   My boys been to the Central Park Zoo and Bronx Zoo with my wife via a school trip.

So as you can see with me, I am much more north!

That I am.  One time my wife and I hit four parks in one vacation.  It was when we went to Pennsylvania as that state as the greatest concentration of amusement parks than any other state.  We went to:

Lakemont Park:  A small amusement park in Altoona, PA.  The main draw for this park was it's many older rides and freshly made food.  It also boasted having the worlds oldest operating roller coaster, Leap The Dips.  The year prior to my visit the coaster was fully restored to operating condition.  The coaster is over 100 years old!

Kennywood:  A large park just outside of Pittsburgh, Pa.  Like Lakemont Park this is another park that featured older rides and boasted 3 working wooden roller coasters.  OK, so one of them was not operating when I visited, but that was the year they retracked their largest steel coaster and turned it into something new.  The new coaster went through the frame of the largest wooden coaster, and that coaster was not operating because of it.

Knobel's Grove:  Within Elysburg PA.  Again another park with older rides and it had two wooden roller coasters.  The rides are all so well maintained even though they are old, they all looked brand new.  This park has my favorite wooden coaster to date, the Phoenix and it has an amazing Haunted House dark ride.   Like Lakemont park, they featured hand made fresh food.  The food was awesome in this park.  I have to say the BEST food I ever had in an amusement park.  This is one park I do want to go back to again, it was that great!   It is also the only park that features a campground AND a swimming pool too.

Hershey Park:  This park is so large and with the Hershey Factory next to it, that they named the town after the place!  Clearly the largest park out of the bunch, Hershey had a mix of old rides and new and like Kennywood, it also boasted 3 operating wooden coasters.  The Lightning Racer was in it's second year of operation and the wood was still a lighter color as to how new it was.  It also felt really weird as it was the smoothest running wooden coaster I ever ridden.  In fact it didn't feel like a wooden coaster at all.   Across the way was the Wildcat wooden coaster, and by contrast that was the roughest coaster I been on.  However, I heard that they retracked the ride recently and put the same trains on it that they have on the Lightning Racer and now the ride is much smoother.

Of course I been to many more parks than this, but this was the most in any one trip.  Usually I hit only one or two on an outing, but because there are so many parks in PA, I managed to squeeze in four.  Sadly, one larger park, Dorney Park, I didn't get to as of yet.   It is as big as Hershey and has a water park too, so I figured I would make that a dedicated trip one day.  I am holding off until my boys are a bit older and get over their fear of larger roller coasters.   The Turbulance roller coaster at Long Island's Adventureland spooked them and they don't touch larger coasters now.  In case you are wondering, this is Turbulance:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxrvXo…

Yes, the cars spin on it.  It is a very short ride, but it is pretty potent.  I have to hand it to the park for creating a pretty thrilling ride in such a small space.  It is an excellent coaster nontheless.

Have you heard of the new one called the Time Traveler? Its got the tallest steep incline, 3 inversions, and the seats spin too. Its so popular they made an ice cream based off it.
Now, there's no way I'm going over to ride it, but I'll sure enjoy the enjoy the ice cream! Lol.

RavenDiablo In reply to autumnrose83 [2019-07-02 03:33:13 +0000 UTC]

No, I am not familiar with that one.  I do know they have one at Alton Towers in Great Britain that has 14 inversions called 'The Smiler'.  I think that is the record for inversions on a single roller coaster.  It does have two lift hills though.   I think the most inversions I experienced was 7 in one ride.  Most coasters usually have about 3 to 5 on the average.   The one I rode that had 7 was at one time the most inversions in the world.   But now they have a coaster with twice as many!

For the most part I am not crazy over inversions. I am more a fan of wooden roller coasters.  Something about them makes them scarier.  Especially if they go through a wooded area.  In Connecticut at a park called Lake Compounce, there is a coaster called Boulderdash and they built it on the side of a mountain.   It's very impressive and to this day, it was the best night ride I had a coaster period!

I like what is called 'airtime' and those are the moments were you get a lift and feel like you are rising out of your seat.   Boulderdash has a bunch of those.

RavenDiablo In reply to autumnrose83 [2019-07-03 00:33:26 +0000 UTC]

Which one?  Boulder Dash or The Smiler?

I been on Boulder Dash only, not The Smiler.  Like I said, I think the most inversions I been on a single coaster was The Great American Scream Machine that used to be at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.  That one had 7 inversions.  At one time IT was the record holder, but I went on it later in my life than when it first came out.  In fact just a mere two years after I rode it that they removed it from the park.  It was pretty rough when I went on it and that was probably the reason why they dismantled it.   It was put in in the late 80's and it was about 2005 or so when I went on it.

But Boulderdash?  No, that is pure fun!  It is an amazing ride both day and night, but it gets my top spot for a night ride.  So far, no other roller coaster I rode was better at night than that one.

LOL!  Don't like to be turned upside down, huh?

I have to say that overall I don't mind inversions.  But there was one ride, a flat right, in which going upside down was an almost painful ordeal.  Check out this piece of work:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=fytK93…

Ok, so you are thinking what's the difference right?  Well, on an average roller coaster, you go through a loop fast.  This thing goes through a loop, SLOWLY.  So yes when you are upside down you feel gravity pulling on you.  Yes the whole ride is padded all around and you have a seat cushion that comes down on your stomach area to keep you in place.  Further you are totally in a cage.  So yes, it is safe, but not the most comfortable ride experience.  The first loop is the hardest, but once it gets going over and over again, it's not that bad.  But then it stops and reverses direction and does it all over again.   To think as a kid, I used to love this thing, but not anymore.  If I want to go upside down on a flat ride, this is the ultimate for me....The Enterprise:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv-Bb4…

Can't tell you how many times you go upside down on this one, but to this day it is one of the most comfortable inverting rides I have been on.  There are NO over shoulder restraints and no feeling of falling towards the ground because of the centrifugal force.  The Enterprise style ride has been around since the mid 70's and I been riding them since I was a child.  I would still go on one today.

Another flat ride I liked as a kid was a weird looking contraption called the Bayern Kurve:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOefS1…

One of the fastest flat rides ever created, parks here in the United States run one of these at about 40 - 45 mph.  If that isn't fast enough for you, the ride manufacturer states the ride is rated to go up to 70mph!  Some fairs in Europe actually ran it that fast.   No I never been on one that went that fast.

As an asthmatic, I already have enough breathing issues on any given day without fighting G-forces and loop-de-loops.
Plus, on the news there's been an increase of coasters being stuck, and mainly on the upside loop. Sooooo that's a big No for me. Lol.

RavenDiablo In reply to autumnrose83 [2019-07-04 04:28:31 +0000 UTC]

Ok, so not your cup of tea then.   Usually it is the shuttle looping coasters that are notorious for getting stuck.   I only went on one of these and that was before I learned of their issues.  It was a coaster called Zoomerang:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3fCLs…

You can even see the spiral staircase going up to the cobra roll element at the end.  That was the most common place where the coaster would get stuck.  And I went on it BEFORE They added that.  Zoomerang was one of the few that were installed without this feature.  But one day it DID get stuck and it took a few hours to get everyone down.  But with that special walkway and stairway, an evacuation would take less than a half hour.   But I agree in that I am not a  fan of the over shoulder restraints.  And I would take a wooden coaster over a looping coaster any day.  They ride very different and each coaster is different.  With a steel coaster, once you been through one loop, it is the same for all other coasters.   Ok, I will say that an outside loop on a coaster where your feet dangle and the track is above you, the loops are better, especially if you get the front seat.

BTW, what did you think of the Enterprise?

Pretty much.  Initially when the ride was released, it DID have the TV show theming on it.   Park and later models didn't have the theming as more than likely the ride manufacturer had to obtain the licensing for it.   A park model like this one here:

www.hussrides.com/sites/defaul…

This style has little to no theming.  The trailer mounted ones usually have the platform and elaborate backdrop on them.

The most southern I've lived is Corpus Christi, Texas. Humid as a sauna. I was 7 and kept having hour long nose bleeds and asthma attacks and had the allergy test done. We had to get rid of our cat, I had to be hospitalized. I pretty much lived in the children's wing of the hospital during our stay there. My ex-stepfather was military so I was well taken care of. We hit a few more states before finally settling in Oklahoma and then he left my mom and us four kids. (real piece of work)
Anyway, the major amusement parks are either in Branson, Missouri or Six Flags Over Texas.

Long Island New York.  It is humid as a Sauna when the temps are in the 70's.   I know most people become envious that I am on an island, surrounded by water, but believe me, it has it's share of problems too.  For instance, anything metal WILL rust out from under you. Also living closer to the water, you have to deal with salt air corrosion.  This is on top of the ultra humid conditions in the spring through fall months.  It is not pleasant here.

Ex-Stepfather....That's interesting.  So, your mom's second husband, I presume.  As I recall, aren't there two Six Flags parks in Texas?  Yes, there is Fiesta.  That is the park that has the Rattler roller coaster.  If you ask me, the Rattler looks better than the Texas Giant.  But I don't know that it is better simply because I have not ridden either coaster.

Yeah he was the second husband but he was the one that had raised me since i was 3 and that i called Dad all my life. She has remarried and even though Jeff is just 10yrs my senior he is still a better father. It took my brothers and i a long time to finally adjust and trust him and call him Dad. We didn't want another guy having any say-so whatever about our lives now that we had finally escaped the tyrant.
I used to live on Treasure Island when it was an active military base. I attendes elementary school there and then 6th grade in SF, before miving all the way to Oklahoma. The west coast was the best place I ever lived in accordance to my health, I had that saline right in the air. I even tried out for track & field and was one hell of a sprinter for being asthmatic. I miss having that energy, that passion for outdoor activities. I would rather stay inside, even on nice days. Oklahoma weather is a bitch. It was hot as hell yesterday morning, then it got dark and thundered and pissed buckets for a couple hours, and then at dusk it got light enough to look like it was the afternoon. And it gave me an all day migraine.
In fact i still have it.
Summer humidty is a killer here, our EMS responders really have their work cut out for them. Our elderly and homeless are just one segment of who they have to attend to.
Never ridden the texas giant but I've seen it and that was good enough for me. Lol.

There is always a trust thing.  Divorce is never easy on a family.  Even though my parents stayed together, I have had friends that went through a divorce.

I am surprised that it is humid there considering Oklahoma is more central and not near water.  Areas near the coast are always more humid because of the water.

I could imagine when it gets very hot, definitely not good for the elderly.

LOL! Both of the  two main Six Flags Texas parks, had their main wooden coasters retracked.  They have a steel / wooden frame, but metal rails.  So The Texas Giant is now the "The New Texas Giant".   "The Rattler" over at Six Flags Fiesta is now the "Iron Rattler".   Out of the two new coasters, I prefer the Iron Rattler more.  I just like that quarry setting.

Oklahoma is land locked but we get warm southern wind from the gulf and cold northern air and that is the condition for tornadoes. The summer gets humid due to the warm southern winds, especially since Hurricane Barry is in that area right now ans has sent mild rain our way.

Ahhhh, yes...the ice cream cones and "funnel" cakes.   I almost forgot about that.  Oklahoma is right up tornado alley.   Oh...there's a hurricane already in the gulf?  Looking up...Category 1 downgraded to tropical storm on landfall.   I am surprised that one got by me.  Didn't hear much about it in the news.  BUT if it was a category 3 or larger, then I probably would have heard about it sooner.

In Oklahoma, weather is a topic of discussion often and serious business on the news. You don't get much time when tornado warning becomes tornado watch. That means there's one confirmed touchdown and we have a great weather satellite system.

I could imagine so if you are dealing with one of the most destructive forces in nature.  Tornados rank quite a bit up there in terms of natural disasters.  I guess the only things that would beat it are an earthquake, and exploding volcano, or a large meteor strike.

That's true...at least you get a fair warning of when the ice cream cones are coming!

As a native Californian I have experienced a few earthquakes but nothing so severe that it was deadly.
and I loved around a lot, now I've spent half my life in Oklahoma and I've not once been caught in a tornado or had my house or any family member's house destroyed by them. I think the closest I ever was, I was inside a mall and we all had to take refuge further inside as one was forming "right on top of us" (IDK, that's just what everyone said) and recently as my husband and I darted our way across the city to get home as the storm hit and it was utter chaos on the road. It really depends where you live, depends on how hard you get the twister, low laying towns usually get the worst. The cities don't.

Being out east we usually don't get tornadoes but sometimes we do.  They are never large or very destructive like the ones you have by you, but I had a friend one time that called in to work and he said, "I am going to be a bit late, there is a tornado following me down Sunrise Highway."   Of course I didn't believe him until we turned on the radio and it confirmed that there was indeed a tornado watch out with one spotted going down...Sunrise Highway."

In subsequent years, there have been minor tornadoes spotted just outside of NYC right in Westchester County.  Not a typical area for tornadoes.    More common though are hurricanes and tropical storms.  However, being this far north, hurricanes rarely reach the power they do in the south because the water is colder up here.  But the last one that hit us, Hurricane Sandy, was pretty potent and it destroyed quite a bit on the New York and New Jersey shorelines.

Oh yes, I've seen some documentary programs on PBS about global warming, cities in danger of flooding, and super stoems like Sandy.
It's incredible how rapid our world is changing due to us.

Well, I guess I can say I been seeing the effects in my lifetime alone.   The current weather patterns are a good example.   It seems as if the 'green house effect', has effectively pushed the seasons later during the year.   I remember when spring started towards the end of March and days warmed up slowly through the spring temperatures.  Very rarely did the temperature jump around like it does today.   The heat that we have in August started towards the end of June.   July used to be the hottest month of the year, now it is August.  In September, when the kids went back to school after Labor Day, the weather started to shift and it became cooler.   Now, the heat goes well through September and it doesn't start to cool off until mid October.   Years ago I remember it was cooling down enough for the leaves to start to fall off the trees.   Halloween used to be in the heart of the autumn season and it was pretty cold out.   Now, I am putting up my Halloween decorations in my SHORTS!   The first week of October is very spring like and warm out.    But the end of the month things cool down and the heart of fall is now around Thanksgiving.   When December came around we had to watch out for our first snows and a White Christmas was more common, but the coldest month of the year was January.  Now it is February.

Weather changes are also no longer smooth as they used to be, they are often very violent, many times summer just crashes almost right into winter, and vice versa.  Lately some years there is practically no spring or fall...of which are the days with the nicest weather temperature wise.

So as you see from my explanation from my days as a kid, that the weather has changed quite a bit and the seasons have been effectively pushed a month later.    So with all these 'greenhouse gases' in the air, it is taking the sun much longer to warm things up and in the fall, much of the heat from the summer is trapped in our atmosphere.   At least that is the best way i can explain the delay in seasons.

But it goes to show you the effect that humans have on the planet in one generation or lifetime alone.

Yes, exactly.
My favorite season is autumn and it feels like it only lasts a week, snug in between summer heat and winter chill.
I've barely seen any fireflies this summer.
Our historic flooding caused changes in animal and plant populations, not to mention pest invasion...
It's been hot, but now we're in for the dog days of summer....

Nice!  That is my favorite season as well.   It is the most colorful with the leaves changing and autumn sunsets are amazing with the yellow orange glow bathing on everything.  Then there is Halloween, one of my favorites of holidays.  I usually put on a display or show every year.

BTW, did you look in my journals at one of the shows I put on?

Halloween 2016 - Vlen Returns!!Hello All Deviants!
As promised I have my video of Halloween finally up on You Tube.  But before I post the link  I would like to explain the events of the evening.
Vlen the Magic Mirror returns after a two year hiatus.  Last year (2015) for Halloween I did the 'Scare Zone' as something quick and easy to put together, because I was still dealing with the reality of my mom passing last year.    The year before that (2014) I did 'The Creep Machine', which was my really BIG Halloween show.   Both years, I have heard people comment on missing the Magic Mirror routine and I kind of got the gist that they were NOT tired of it after four years of my doing it prior to 2014.   So this year I finally brought the Magic Mirror back.
The display was not large this year as I have decided to scale back to facilitate an easier setup and take down.  As a result the display resembled my 2011 display most, since that year I also didn't do the Singing

That was my show for 2016.  Even though I had a show for 2017 and 2018, I didn't put up a full run as of yet.  I been falling a bit behind with my video editing.   BUT that is one of the reasons why I like autumn so much.  HALLOWEEN!!

My son's are after the fireflies as well and there are usually a bunch out around the 4th of July around here. We didn't go out for 4th of July this year because of the release of season 3 of Stranger Things.  Yep, we are Stranger Things nuts!  In fact for 2018 Halloween, my display had an Alphabet Wall up like that in show.

We have quite the pests in summer too...mosquitoes!    Being so humid here, you really get chewed up quickly!  It kind of ruins the summer nights going outside, especially on the 4th.    Years ago they used to spray the entire neighborhood with a pesticide and that worked well for the season.   BUT then you get complaints from people that have home gardens about the pesticides.  You know something is wrong with the tomatoes get as big as watermelons and the watermelons get as big a VW beetle.  So that is why they stopped.  But now the bugs run rampant during the summer.  This is one reason why I want a house with a screened in front porch.  This way I can enjoy summers gain without getting bit up.

Oh i haven't opened my laptop in weeks.
I've been so busy with other things that when I do have the time, I dont have the energy. And I had to do updates so I ended up not watching anything anyway...
Halloween is my favorite season. I have a black xmas tree that I've decorated with Halloween decor and it sits out all October.
Love it.

I have Sleep Aponea so getting a good night sleep isn't easy for me in general.   Some nights are better than others though and lately I been having a good string of nights.  But having a bad night usually has me waking up with no energy and with that feeling that I DON'T want to go to work.  So I guess I can relate.

Oh really?  Yes, we are big Halloween lovers here and lately I been going more out with Halloween decorations (outside) than Christmas.  I used to put on a big Christmas display with having the lights flashing to the music, but I have not done that in a while.  I have an apartment in which I live on the first floor and I have neighbors on the second floor.  However, we don't really speak with them and their boy is a nuisance.  So I feared he would damage the display, so I don't put it out.   For Halloween, I just put a bunch of inexpensive items out.  Then the day before and the day of Halloween, I put the big stuff out.  I put on my display / show for Halloween and then that very night, it all comes back down.

The big displays I did at my parent's house, but my dad passed away in 2017 and I sold his house in 2018, so I don't have that property anymore. So I only have the apartment.  BUT I did find a house in my neighborhood I liked and I might buy it.  Then it is all my own and I can go nuts with my displays again!

I would buy Halloween stuff to decorate my room with all the time. And I managed to score some cool Halloween decor last year for my birthday (which is in December).
I get excited around the end if summer, I feel more Alive.

That's cool.  I am not sure if you get a Spirit Halloween by you, but they always have the 50% off everything sale the day after Halloween and you can score BIG with that sale.  Since I didn't spend my budget last year on anything new for Halloween, I spent it all the day after at Spirit.  So now I have some nice things for this Halloween.

I do have some Halloween decorations for my living room, but by and large, I have WAY more stuff for outside.

Well, you can see from my journal entries what I do for Halloween.   My family and I always have a lot of fun.

I do have a Spirit Halloween, they took over a vacated SEARS building.
This year they're featuring exclusive cereal of Ursula and Oogie Boogie that come with a Funko figure inside the box!
So I'm definitely dragging my husband there!

You want to laugh?  One year over here, Spirit took over a Sears store as well!  Actually they had did it for two years in a row, but now Michael's Crafts took over the Sears store.  Last year they were in the nearly abandoned Pathmark mall.  Once that supermarket went out of business, the mall declined and all of the big stores, including and Applebees, closed down.  I think there are only 3 stores in there where they used to be about 12.

Nice!  I am a collector mostly of the Rock Candy series.  I do have Maleficent in both classic Sleeping Beauty and 2014 versions in standard Pop.

I noticed they released Bellatrix LaStrange in Rock Candy:

cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2597…

She's a good villian in the Harry Potter series.  I am somewhat a fan, but not a good sense.   I actually created a Daz Studio variant of her.  But she is different from Bellatrix.

This is Bella LaRouche:

So those are the three renders of Bella.  As you see she has the same Gothic look as Bellatrix and an overall similarity.  But there are differences too.  Just click on the images for more details. The first two I did a while ago and the last one with the pendulum is more recent as that was an exercise in lighting.

In terms of Rock Candy figures, I have Hella and Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok.  I have Rey from Star Wars.  I have Wonder Woman.  With the regular POP's my sons have there is Harry Potter, Dobby, Thor, Thanos, The Alien Queen from Aliens, some of the characters from the game Kingdom Hearts, the Dalek and Tardis from Dr. Who.

So we have a few figures.

Oh oh oh!  I have not seen THIS one before!
