No, I don’t HATE Danbo, but his/her/it’s face is just that easy to mock.
For those of us who've wondered about the origins of the infamous DANBO (myself included),I found out the original creator is Kiyohiko Azuma who did a manga called Yotsuba&!. Dando was introduced in Chap. 28 and was later on commissioned by Amazon Japan. Kiyohiko Azuma is also the creator of the manga Azumanga Daioh.
So alas, mystery solved!

It's not the characters that people hated, it was the consent flood of photos that plague the frontpage at one point. Most people didn't know who Yotsuba was so the actual manga got pushed in the background while that "box toy" took center stage. It was a shame cuz I thought Yotsuba was the more interesting character.

Well that box toy is sort of like Hello kitty to another asian chick down the block, Either people like him because his face is simple however witch that simplness you can youse that advantage to take a bold photograph. All you need it him, and just a background, like magic lol. I understand wat your saying tho, I feel the same with Jusin beiber >.<

Beiber was another thing I didn't get. A prepubescent boy singing about love and relationships is just weird to me. He's older now but the craze still feels odd.

I never really liked his music :/ I though he was a girl when I first heard his song Baby -_-. I respect him for being big and succesful n stuff. But I think girls just Like to Say I love etc, just cuz they dont wanna be left out with their buddies most of the time.

Considering where he came from, it's a huge step up. Being on welfare is no picnic so it's admirable for a child to be able to do what he has done for his family. But the girls are a different story. Peer pressure can be powerful and some of them don't even know their being affected.

That little guy has taken over this site. Even the people who take pics of the Danbo toy don't say anything about Yotsuba. Maybe they don't even know. It's sad that an entire manga gets overlooked over the toy.

I'm actually the opposite. You haven't been here that long but it's actually a fandom to take photos of the Danbo toy. It became a cheap way to get pageviews because, in ALL honestly, this site is full of members who are complete suckers for "cute things". I thought Yotsuba was more appealing but nobody knows about her. The entire manga got upstaged by the pics of the "mysterious robot" that no one knows the origins from
