Who knew someone could make absolute command trash look soo good? I'm a little surprised myself, honestly! XD;;
My opinion on Katt's Command design?
It doen't necessarily work for her. Like-- at ALL. It's not Katt, honestly. I just don't see it, really. How anyone can is kinda beyond me (but you do you, dangit, I won't stop you)!
However, if said design were for another character entirely and was somewhat fine-tuned a little (especially in dropping those ridiculous coconutty breastplate(?) things, eughh ), it'd be pretty great, actually!
Now, moving on, and before anyone nitpicks, haha the anatomy may look a little (or maybe a lot) wonky this time, but that's because it was originally intended to be a quickie and then took a drastic and unexpected turn to what it is now... Whoops!
Let's hope that doesn't happen again! XD

This looks awesome. Even if it started as a quick doodle and is consequently not as perfect as it could have been, overall the pose turned out great and you improved the Command-Katt design a lot compared to how she looks in the game.
I agree that Command-Katt and actual Katt look like totally different characters and that changing her design in Command was not a good decision. It's not just the fur color, it's everything - the shape of her eyes, her snout, everything. Now StarFox designs in general are not completely consistent between the different games but the change that happened to Katt in Command is just too much, totally doesn't look like the same character.
But yes, for a different character the design would work with some fine-tuning as you said because Command artwork in general isn't particularly good. But Katt, nope that isn't Katt.

Thank you very much! It appears I definitely truly saw my goal through to the end, despite the rocky road! (And hey, at least in terms of ice-cream, rocky road tastes great. (At least in my opinion, that is... )
It is too much. Yeah. She's not even all that recognizable, for crying in the mud! Especially considering that which you've pointed out. Even Leon's inconsistent eye color or the fact every character's outfit designs were always tinkered with to some extent per game was very either reasonably-rooted and/or simply not as drastic (I'm guessing the whole Leon thing is mostly an oversight).
It's definitely a part of why I believe the Command design is best-suited to another character entirely. Heck! When there were glimpses of Command circulating around and stuff back when I was almost 11, and prior to its release in the US... I was in a deep "confusion spell" (for lack of a better way to describe), considering none of the glimpses were at all in English (when there were any words at all). And on some (if not most) days, I was fully convinced this was a possible new character, whereas on others, I'd be like... "Well maybe it IS Katt, since they used part of her theme in the one video..." I mean, I at least had a feeling the design had something to do with Katt and that was it... But overall, this honestly was a very poor redesign choice, all things considered, and not a path they should have went down to begin with. <|D;;

I can imagine that that was confusing when they hadn't yet clarified whether this character was Katt or not.
As I got to know StarFox a bit later I saw both versions of Katt at about the same time but even so I thought the pink design suited her much better. If I also look at the smaller more reasonable differences between the rest of the designs, I like the Farewell Beloved Falco comic version of Katt best.

That probably was the intended approach, yeah. Command didn't do even that enough justice, though. Almost washed the "Katt" outta her completely.
