- The Neo-Martian Union, member state of the North Atlantic Conglomerate (NAC) founded in 2103 at the end of the First Martian Civil War and after the fall of the first Martian Union in 2095. Currently at a population of nearly 345 million, it is the main power on Mars.

Capital: Roosevelt (7.5 mil. inhabitants); largest settlement: Bellator (10.5 mil. inhabitants).

- The State of New Arabia, formerly a province of the Holy Arab League (HAL) but now a wholly constituent nation. Besides this autonomy reform, has known little political change since the arrival of its first settlers in 2029. Its current population is 106 million and is the main exporter of aqueous minerals such as hematite, phyllosilicates (clay minerals), goethite, jarosite, iron sulfate minerals, opaline silica, and gypsum, and also of hydrogen, useful for fuel.

Capital and largest settlement: New Mecca (7 mil. inhabitants)

- The Mariner Republic, a unitary parliamentary republic that seceded from the NMU after it was founded in 2103 due to a disagreement on the way to govern the largest martian country. A demilitarised zone was set up between the two countries which expired 100 years later in 2203. Despite that however, the MR has never been in conflict with the NMU and is an economic haven for mining companies. Despite its smaller population of only 24 million, it rivals with both the NMU and New Arabia economically.

Capital and largest settlement: Candor (1.6 mil. inhabitants)

- The People's Republic of Tyrrhena, a communist state which declared independence from the NMU in 2135, leading to the Second Martian Civil War, or Tyrrhenan Revolution, which lasted until 2139 when the PRT fully seceded from the NMU. With a population of almost 17 million and relatively small military, it has managed to seize a considerable portion of the southern Hellas Planitia, or Hellas Sea, which is rich in resources and an important hub for mining companies (along with the Mariner Valley).
