Description A mated pair of the machairatrogon Coyolxauhqui purpurea, and its nest commensal, the strixotrogon Triangulostrix anna. The so-called "Bell Dagger Trogon" is a commonly heard, but rarely encountered machairatrogon of the lower reachs of North Iapetus. The yellow-headed female, unusual for machairatrogons, has her own, distinctive call, a bell-like answer to the male's loud, raspy whirring calls.
