Description Comparison of the an as of yet unnamed arthropod, Synophalos xynos, and the related Waptia ovata, from the Chengjiang fauna.

Apparently, S. xynos would gather up in long chains of individuals in order to swim from one place to another. When the chain would encounter some fatal scenario, such as anoxic areas, they would all die together and fall to the seafloor, still attached.

They may have been deposit- or filter-feeders, akin to some shrimp today.
