Description Name: Riverine Shig
Species: Dorchoerus potamus
Notes: The Riverine Shig, as with all other shigs, are sheep-sized browsers that also root around for tubers and the occasional invertebrate. Huge herds of riverine shigs, numbering into the tens of thousands are found in all three of the major floodplains of the Narma (Tarcanian, Grandest Meridial Divide, and Occiptanian), as well as along the Southeastern Northern Iapetan coast, and in Orza's forests. It should not be confused with the closely related Cowled Shig, D. melanocephalus, which has a black head with white eye-rings.

Name: Lesser Tarcanian Aquadile
Species: Hipposuchus minor
Notes: This particular aquadile is found in the seaward regions of the Tarcanian Floodplain, which is the southernmost major floodplain of Northern Iapetus. By day the herds wallow in the water, and by night, they leave the water to graze. Unlike other aquadiles of the genus, the Lesser Tarcanian does not feed on aquatic plants during the day.
