There's a tiny drabble that goes with the scar theme on my Tumblr postI just imagined this little flashback as I lay in bed with my cat on my face. Then I knew I had to draw it somehow.
Please ignore the crap anatomy.

You know, you’re not the first to say that - that the new design is growing on you. I’m the same as well. The more I draw it and work with it, the more I like it. Particuarly his hair.
And these ideas? They usually come to me when I first wake up or as I just fall asleep.

I’m glad you like the story. I thought I might even try practicing animating that transition from Hiccup’s freshly-injured arm to the old scar Astrid observes. We’ll see if I ever pull that off.

Well practice makes perfect -- and observing is the best thing an artist can do. I love looking at people, which is why my art is full of them two-legged critters
