Description A painting that almost got me kicked out of my college art department. Apparently fire and smoke aren't supposed to be that color. Pssh. So much for free expression.

OWNED BY AVATARBLADE2000. DO NOT USE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. SERIOUSLY.

This is one of my favorites. It's beautiful and creative, and that art department can shove it.

Also... I love you.

I am fond of this idea. To me it represents light (white), which is the combination of every color, and also death/darkness/black, which is the returning of everything to the basic element (carbon) through fire.

But then again, I could just be a sucker for bright color.

Thanks mopsy. As usual, your opinion and/or words of general interest mean a ton-and-a-half to me. That was actually the idea, a kind of reverse-prism: I just thought it would be interesting to see a black flame as opposed to black smoke, and the rainbow smoke kind of organically sprouted out of that idea. I like this painting, even if it's rough around the edges - and saturated in BAD MEMORIES.

You really must come back and witness the awesomeness that is Dr. Adams. She has a very quiet intelligence, or experience - which is as close a word as I can get to describing it. She's a wonderful person/teacher, and I think you'd really enjoy her class.

The plan is to come back, stomach that year-and-a-half left of my minor and major, and hit a grad school if possible...but yeah, I miss my art peeps, two gingers in particular.

And I've heard a lot of good things about Dr. Adams. I liked all of the department guys and gals that I met with down there - except for someone *ahem* who shall go unnamed...but yeah.

Whoever wanted to kick you for that has no sense for art :/

Indeed. Not that I was much better, but...yeah. Thank you very much for liking this pic: I have a soft spot for it myself.

wow, i hope thats a joke. this is really cool, any art department that would kick you out for this is one not worth existing; especially if that was their reason.

Sadly, no, it was not. The instructor was an absent-minded harpy who struck every time you brought up a point she'd since forgotten or knew more about than she did. The rest of the department is fine, great even, but - yeah. Thank you very much, I really like this pic, even if it is amateurish.
