It's pretty simple. Just select the tree, inverse and apply the filter of choice. I used the pen tool to make the selection, but you can use whatever works best for you.

Really impressive, somehow like we're speeding towards the waterfall, and the fact that the tree trunk is still in focus gives a very special effect !
