She's a relatively young gem and her defection is a new thing for her. Like Peridot with the Crystal Gems. I'll probably be drawing her in a new, more rebellious get up if she ever gets poofed

Yeah, that makes sense. But, in a more professional rebel alliance I doubt they'd allow diamond symbols..
