Well, if that wood wasn't already pretty much fucked up, Vanitas has to come and leave his monsters in the scariest woods ever, I bet he has something against princesses.
I've noticed that in KHBBS, the worlds that ended up being the darkest and interesting are the ones were Aurora, Cinderella and Snowhite live. Maybe it's the medieval setting, or that in a way their childish inocence is in danger by the aproach of darkness.... I LIKE THAT.
This is kind a double fanart, I've loved Snowhite and the seven Dwarves since ever, and the wood scene always amused me. The way they related Snowhite deepest fears to the point to make her see things and the whole concept of the Vanitas' negative energy powering up such emotions was a nice plot element. That's what it made principally birth by sleep's plot as good as the first kingdom hearts in my opinion. I know that in the game the monstrous-logs-lookalike-cocrodiles and bats didn't appear but in the movie they did, so I felt free to put them anyways.
I wanted to experiment with a more complicated way of shadowing and lightning. Also, trying to be less dependant to lineart. I owed you guys complicated pieces, but this is the reason why I've been uploading much crap lately, I couldn't finish this. Also colouring it was the most difficult part but after applying the rest of the stuff seemed alrighty to me. I had trouble with Ventus keyblade at first so I had to re do it.
Also, I see what nomura did there, Ventus holds up his keyblade that way because it resembles a wing, see the ending of it. Ventus has a subtle wing guys.
I think I will do the terra-aurora and aqua-cinderella pics too sometime. Enjoy
