Description "Pepe: Quel es? ... Ahhh ... la belle femme skunk fatale!! Tch-tch."
"Penelope: "Do not want "

Gosh if I missed making this series! And yes I know I broke my own rule of just drawing cats (I started with just Penelope) but I couldn't resist! Pepe is so epic I love his cartoons and how the poor Penelope is chased away, she's just so cute! They both are my favourite looney tunes! And I ship this pairing lol

A bit of trivia from wikipedia: Penelope actually loves Pepe, his odor is what makes her to run away from him. Pepe always thinks that she's playing hard on him, so he loves chasing her. There was a time when Pepe discovers his smell so he puts a strong cologne on himself. To his surprise he was kind of scarred to see Penelope pursuing him after that (since he is used to be the one that chases her) Pepe's personality is very much similar to Maurice Chevalier (it is a theory that the skunk was based on him). Penelope is a very shy kitty, and didn't speak often. She didn't have an official name till the film "Carrotblanca" where she was designated as Penelope Pussycat.

There's a lot of experiment in the colouring here... I only used Brown and Grey tones. I don't know, I kind of like it. Sorry for the lazy background. I don't have much time lately Fashion designers are going to demand me

EDIT!: less manly arms for Penelope! thanks for the critique!

I love the way you drew them, reminds of my style to draw anthros. You draw characters taller than usually and you can still keep them look similiar like they originally do. That's amazing! Good work! Β

My word, it's always a rare gem to find someone depict the classic Toons in a more modern, mature style, taking them into new and uncharted territory...and yet, maintaining those crucial elements which make them so recognizable! And here, my friend, you've pulled it off. If you had to break this rule of yours for the sake of any one couple, I'm glad it was this one. After all, for all the "not-getting-the-hint" amorous ways of Pepe, it turns out that more often than not, once his odor is no longer an issue, Penelope can't get enough of him--much to his considerable surprise (methinks he's not used to BEING the one chased).

I love the classy, 1920s/1940s-era setting you seemed to go for, here--from Pepe's suit to Penelope's evening gown, I can see these two walking into some ritzy jazz club for a quiet, sizzling evening for two; a little dinner, a waltz on the dance floor, a romantic walk through the park afterwards...

Plus there's your masterful use of shading and posture. All in all, a good reason to nail this one up in my favorites.

Thank you Sure "le garÇon" Pepé, is all casanova towards ladies, but when he tastes a bit of his own medicine, he's just as shy as the little damsels he chases.
The trick behind the characters look similar to their cartoony counterparts is studying the whole composition of their faces. Knowing were to place the eyes, the size of the nose and other important shenanigans are crucial. That's why I try to learn how they are originally drawn, then make a similar but more detailed picture of the same character (this works as a warm up). I try with different possibilities and then choose wich one does a better tribute to the character.
When Im done with this doodles, I finally decide to start the final composition.
The jazz everonment you seemed to construct is very suitable for the picture, I like it. Thank you again for everything!

It was also known that Pepe was based off of one of the writers at Warner Bros: Tedd Pierce, for he was a self proclaim ladies man. And Chuck also said how Pepe was also based on himself, except for the simple fact that Chuck was shy of girls, bu he once said that now he can create "a guy, that's completely sure of himself". Sorry, I'm a Pepe know it all basically I'm a Looney Tune know it all!! Anyways awesome artwork!!! THIS IS AN INSTANT EPIC WIN!!! It's just plain awesome!!!
