It has an old Russian painted portrait aesthetic to it. That's probably the best thing I can say about it. The "expressiveness" doesn't speak to me, but I'm probably in the minority. As for the colours the whole thing looks pale, nothing contrasts with anything. Sure, the ginger hair should contrast with the pale skin or dress, but the colours aren't vibrant enough, the ginger hair looks too dimmed to create contrast.
