It’s been three months since Chidi was born. This group of cubs has already taken to playing together just like their parents did before them. It made me smile to watch the energy of cubs fill the pride again. As I lay on a rock watching the cubs play, I notice a figure approach in the distance. I immediately sit up, watching intensely to see who it was. As the figure got closer, I could make out familiar details that could only belong to one lioness I know.
           “Arian!” I roar as I charge after her. It has been almost a year since I’ve seen my second oldest daughter and I couldn’t be more excited to see her. As she comes closer, I see two smaller figures on either side of her. I smile even bigger as I approach my daughter.
           “Mom!” Arian shouts. She walks up to me and nuzzles me. “I’ve missed you so much.”
           “I’ve missed you more,” I respond. I pull away and look down at the two young cubs on either side of her. They look like the spitting images of their mother. “Are these my grandcubs?” I ask excitedly.
           Arian nods with a smile, “The girl is Asta and the boy is Amzi.”
           “They look just like you,” I say with a smile.
           “Arian!” I hear Thando’s roar as he bounds over to us. He nuzzles Arian as soon as he reaches her.
           “We have two more grandcubs, Thando,” I say proudly. “Meet Asta and Amzi.”
           “The more the merrier!” Thando says as he crouches down to greet the twins.
           “Wait,” Arian says puzzled, “I know Aliza was due when I left, but…”
           “All of your siblings have become parents,” I say proudly. “Come, lets go meet your nieces and nephews!”

           As I lead her up to where the rest of the pride is lounging, Arian is flooded with greetings and nuzzles from her siblings and friends. Her cubs are also quickly welcomed by their cousins as they drag them off to play. Now, I think to myself, our family is whole again.
