Description
Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood.I colored the lineart with crayola markers and got the watercolor effect with plain water and a paint brush. I really think I messed this up, especially his skin which I fixed up a lot with Paint Shop Pro.

Wow, this is beautiful, I love how intense, and yet soft it is... If that makes any sense at all! He looks intense, and the color quality is amazing, but I think the watercolor style really added fluidity to this piece, it's so nice. I've never worked with Crayola markers before, do they work really well?

Thank you so much! :3 I'm really glad you like it. To be honest Crayola is not very good, especially not for skin tones 
The Crayola watercolor experiment started with the blue background. It came out streaky and uneven so I thought, since they're water-based markers, why not use a brush and some H2O and see what happens? It came out cool enough that I decided to do the rest of the piece like that too

Defintiely try it! Just have on hand lots of paper towels and clean your brush often! Let me know how it comes out

You are welcome, was an interesitng technique. When I draw, time ago, I just color with pencils and markers, but this is a good technique.

Hahaha I have been blessed with the OCD habit of needing to scan everything in stages! That's why I've been putting up the linearts and such.
One of these days I'll put up a meme and a tutorial about my watercolor marker technique.

True, I may spend a day or more on just the sketch before I get brave enough to ink it and even then there are little things about it I mess up a little only nobody seems to notice those little things liek I do

I do all my "official" line art in Illustrator now. I use to have to go into photoshop and fix every little detail that i didn't like.

yeah soemtimes I fix it up in PSP after I scan it but I also like to have the originals look about the same so I probably wont do digital anymore

I have to start handing in all my concept work for art. The diary work is worth just as much as the final product for our major work. So any work i don't like have have to keep.
