Description I was afraid to say anything to her, I didn't want to ruin it. Wait, ruin what? I don't know.
I was curious though, as to why she didn't go gossip about it, about me.
My teacher came up behind me, took a look at my work and smiled.
"You're getting better at noses. Have you been practicing?"
I smiled back and nodded. Ah, Art class, I could think of nothing better.
A few minutes later the room was quiet and everyone was done their drawings.
"I'd like everyone to pick a partner, preferably someone you don't know very well," The teacher started, eyeing the girls at the back who'd immediately started whispering after they heard the word partner. "We're going to be playing a variation of a parlour game, called 'The Exquisite Corpse'. It's played by dividing the page into three or four parts, this time two, and having a different person draw a section without seeing the other half. You are to draw a continuing line onto the other half, so that the next artist knows where to put their drawing to link with yours."
A boy raised his hand and waved it obnoxiously after the teacher didn't call on him right away.
She sighed before acknowledging. "Yes, Daniel?"
"If we don't see the first part, how are we gonna know what to draw?"
"Well Daniel, I'd like you each to draw something to do with a dream of yours, seeing as this is the Surrealism unit."
"But then it won't make sense."
"Surrealism isn't supposed to…. Daniel."
"Oh…."
I held back laughing as his face still held confusion.
"Now, find a partner and start drawing!" The teacher said happily. She really was a carefree kind of teacher.
"Hey, Cassie. Would you like to work together?"
I turn my attention to Tessa, who was now standing in front of me, twiddling her thumbs like she'd done something wrong.
At first I was confused. Until I noticed the look on their faces…. Tessa's usual 'friends'.
I know that most teen movies are ridiculous for the whole 'clique' type thing, but there really are some. Tessa was the kind of girl who'd fit any clique. She could walk up to the popular girls who faun over guys and make conversation yet be just as welcome with the girls who play on every sports team available to the school.
The 'friends' this time were the Pretty girls who thought painting their nails neon colours would make them into Picasso.
"You don't have to do that."
"What?"
"Be nice to me. Go be partners with one of your friends. It's fine."
I looked at the picture in front of me….. Horrible. I truly am a crappy artist.
I smiled faintly as I reminded myself that the sculpting unit was next. Just wait it out.
I pulled my attention away from internal excitement for clay, and focused on the teacher as she'd started talking.
Ah, the Exquisite Corpse, I did that at my last school, though not with dream interpretations.
After she'd said the bit about partners, my brain immediately skipped to Cassie. Last time we had a partner project she got stuck with Daniel because no one else wanted him as a partner…. I held back from laughing at the look of cluelessness on his face, even after the teacher answered his question.
I got up and walked over to where Cassie sat by herself, trying very hard not to look or think about the girls behind me.
"Hey, Cassie. Would you like to work together?" I asked sort of nervously, I had no idea whether she'd like or hate me for Lunch….
After she'd stopped crying, and I had caught up to her after she ran away, we went to the bath room to wipe off her then soaked eyes. The bell rang before I could say anything, but she managed to ask me if I'd tell anyone, amidst her hiccups and fast paced breathing. I told her I wouldn't and she rushed off as the bell rang. One period later we were entering art class and I was swept up by the girls I knew in this class.
"You don't have to do that." She said, with no expression on her face.
"What?" I asked confused.
"Be nice to me." Her expression faltered for a second, hurt plain in her eyes. "Go be partners with one of your friends. It's fine."
I shook my head, "I don't have any….Oh…" She meant those girls. No, their opinion doesn't affect me.
"No, it's fine. All they draw anyway is stick figures and cats."
She smiled faintly, and said Okay before I sat down beside her.
"And besides," I said laughing, "I would love to see the expression on their face when I get to be partners with you."
"What do you mean?" She said laughing.
"You're the best artist in this Class."
"No…." She said happiness fading from her eyes while she thought. "No, I'm not."
It sounded like she was trying to convince….. me? No, herself….
"Well let's get started on the project." I said brushing it away.
"Yeah…"

Oh, my... Daniel reminds me of... several people that I know... I like how you did him.
Alright, this isn't really much of a literary suggestion, but it would really help if you separated the two points of view with a dash or something. That's all for this one.
