FIXED THE CROW!I finally got my computer working today: I seriously have not drawn for like 16 days and then I pooded this out inabout 8 hours straight.
Corel Paints: Only reference used on the crow.
Listening to: Alex Smoke, Trentmoller, Kaskade & Deadmou5, Above and Beyond... gah guilty pleasures.

nono... erm Kafka means "crow" in Russian. If anything it is "Kafka" from Murakami's "Kafka on the Shore" - one of my favourite novels!

Yeah, but I am okay with it! I used to only paint in oils! But now.... sadly - but cleanly - I paint in Corel.

I especially like the crow. The feathers look amazing! If I had ten billion different reference pictures there's no way I could pull that off in only 8 hours. Soooo goooood!

Wow, what a work. I love the colours and everything about this work. It's like works of Kafka - strange and insanely beautiful. So the title really fits, hehe.

Kafka means crow in Russian. The only reason I know that is because I read "Kafka on the Shore" by Murakami... Never read Franz... is he good?

Is it? Oo Because as far as know crow is like, voron, in Russian. Perhaps it's crow in different language, but definitely not in Russian.
Kafka is a strange writer, sometimes it's very hard to read him, but I like the way he represent his heroes. I recommend you short stories and if you will like it, you can read novels, like "America"
I don't know anything about Murakami, myself xD I've read some things but didn't like it, well, that's me.

You would know! Haha! Murakami is a Japanese surreal author. Kafka - according to him meant crow... I think he said Russian - but again YOU would know!

Dostoevsky... Yes, sometimes. But we were forced to read him, analyze his books and I think he's not depressive at all, at least to Russians with our sick mentality xD

I think this has become my favorite painting by you. Everything about this just feels so right. It's so beautiful and realistic, it's hard to believe that none of this, save for the crow (?), was drawn/painted using a reference.

Nonononono!!! Many many many hours before I touch Corel's lighting. It is kind of like textures - yes they were used but no, it did not make my picture just "work." I mean YOU have to paint what you want.
You can use Corel lighting to enhance: as in all my backgrounds. I use it to accentuate where the light source is. but your picture has to be already painted the way you want it. Corel Just uses gradients and layer combinations to produce a pretty nice effect. But you have to work it. I mean you gotta have something worth lighting...
It is like the lighting in Maya, but for 2d. It is also kinda like afterEffects lighting too.
I mean, sometimes it just does not work.
