Because she was actually a young princess and she was technically BORN a princess and she doesn't marry a rich and handsome prince.

She found something and someone even better that any of the things the Disney princesses got in the end.
I love this movie with ALL my heart. Elionwy is AMAZING! I saddens me that no one remembers her, but she'll always be a Disney princess in my heart.
