The story and characters you know and love come to life in the reimagining adaptation of ATLUS's hit video game Persona 5, celebrating one of the most smash-hit RPGs ever made. Journey to the urban, concrete bustling streets of modern-day Shibuya and discover the epic origin story of the Phantom Thieves, a group of normal teenagers-turned-Persona users and a talking black cat that changes the hearts of corrupt adults...by going to the Metaverse with the mysterious Metaverse Navigator app and unlocking the otherworldly awaken power of one's true inner self, a Persona.

Experience the coming-of-age journey of Akira Kurusu, a young upbeat orphan-turned-high schooler with a downbeat past who is longing to find his place in the world as he struggles to fit in at his hometown and at school when one dark night, he saved a woman from being assaulted. But unfortunately, a false accusation has been leveled against him, forcing poor Akira to be expelled from his old school and is sent away from home to Shibuya on probation for a whole year. Despite his past actions and living above Café Leblanc, Akira will do anything to make all his outcast problems disappear...until he had been summoned to the Velvet Room and had been given a chance of rehabilitation - even if it means having the resolve to challenge the distortion of the world and reform society by going through his rehabilitation in order to prevent and avoid an uneventful ruin that awaits him in the near future, as told by Igor, the master of the Velvet Room. Akira can now see that the world around him is not the way as he thought it should be, but filled with distortion and that ruin can not be avoided.

Re-enrolling and attending Shujin Academy as a second-year and got a taste of school life in the big city, Akira soon befriends former track runner and delinquent Ryuji Sakamoto; part-time model Ann Takamaki; Kosei High second-year artist Yusuke Kitagawa; well-behaved Shujin Academy third-year and student council president Makoto Niijima; former shut-in and geeky hacker Futaba Sakura; daughter of a rich CEO and refined Shujin Academy third-year Haru Okumura; and a strange, talking cat-like being named Morgana. Together, they banded together to form the mysterious and rumored Phantom Thieves for the purpose of reforming society...and finding out the truth behind the mental shutdown cases that are connected to the cognitive Palaces of distorted people in the Metaverse and Mementos, the entire population's shared Palace formed by society's collective unconscious, as their efforts and struggles are turned into a saga of trust, drama, comedy, mind-blowing mysteries, suspense, friendship, family and sometimes romance.

With the help from a group of his newfound friends, the famous high school ace detective Goro Akechi, and other Confidants, Akira will have to take to heart his steady leadership within the Phantom Thieves, find love, confront his past, and ultimately become the Trickster he unexpectedly has the "potential" to be the hope of a world beyond repair.

Society’s corruption manifests in a distorted reality, but the Phantom Thieves of Hearts are here to steal back their future.
