Description
Ergynue
The ergynue (Esurientes Anguilla: ‘Hungry Eel’) is a semiaquatic amphibian like creature that can both breathe both underwater and on land. Having some traits resembling that of an eel. Their current specific habitats are unknown though being researched carefully. Same with what family they fall under in the animal kingdom. The species are rarely seen, but are known to exist from a specific reported source.
Size and Appearance
The adult Ergynue can be from about seven (7) feet tall, too thirteen (13) feet tall. With a weight range between three hundred (300) pounds and seven-hundred ninety (790) pounds on average.
They have anthropoid body form, with large somewhat webbed hands. Arms being quite long in shape compared to the rest of the body. Their head similar to that of a tubular shape,. Having a set of two gills on either side of their head, and a set of two eyes covered up by ‘lenses’ to help them see underwater. There is also the species’ sharp teeth, and also their lips. Ergynues also have a belly eye insignia upon their lower abdomen, in various shapes and colors. Claws, are also able to grow on their fingers and toes. Only having three toes.
Eye colors vary from purple, blue, green and red. The lens’ color varies between red, purple and gray. The belly insignia’s colors depend on the lens and eye color. For example, the iris in the insignia matches the eye color of the Ergynue while the pupil is the lenses’ color. Skin tone is usually a shade of gray, though there has been reports of the skin tone possibly also being shades of blue, especially dark blue. Lips tend to be a lighter shade of skin tone.
Physical Traits
The species throat, and inner gill lining is quite strong like stomach lining and oddly both are quite stretchable both being acid resistant. Due to how much the species stomach lining can stretch, they are able to eat things, up to roughly twice their size whole. The purpose of the lining being acid resistant appears to be the species ability to spew stomach acid from the flat part of the gills/acid shooters which helps break down prey.
All of these species appear genderless in their regular form.
The species skin is smooth and somewhat slimy, likely from an excretion that helps protect against contact with their own stomach acid.
The six teeth of the species are sharp and triangular, their gums able to shift around to keep them standing or point outward in order to bite deep and circle around a specific section of what they’re biting into.
The species’ insides match their skin tone. Their tongue rounded, similar to that of a human but shorter.
Webbed hands, help assist with swimming.
The lenses, would tint the color the species see, if it had not been that their mind filtered out the color to an extent.
The physical maturity for the species is five to ten months.
Ergynues, have a lack of nasal passage ways and the sense of smell in their base form.
Abilities
Ergynue are able to see quite well under water, although depending on a birth defect their eyesight may have a tint to it. The tint color is likely created by the lenses that cover the eyes.
Another aquatic a simple ability of the Ergynue is the capability to breathe both on underwater and upon land.
Ergynue, classically have a strong digestive system to handle their prey. Along with stomachs capable of holding larger prey. On either side of the head is a small tubular like structure that is capable of bringing up and spewing out digestive acids along with the mouth of course. The muscles and lining internally of this structure is able to handle the strong stomach acid, that is capable of melting down prey of all sorts between minutes to an hour when inside the stomach.
Along with Ergynue’s strong digestive system comes with more transformative or obtaining traits according to the prey captured or devoured. The first, of these skills, is after digesting skin, muscle tissue or generally the flesh or part of the flesh of a creature or another, Ergynue or capable of taking the form and physical traits of the creature the flesh belong to, when it was obtained, although this excludes tattoos and similar markings. Commonly Ergynue can store up to three ‘forms’ and switch freely between then, and their original body at a time. Once a new one is introduce and three have already been obtained, one of the forms gets replaced. Although there may be some with much larger capabilities or much fewer forms to be able to store as there is only one current example being based upon.
The other trait is shown when having digested a whole brain of a prey. From doing so memories and information, that possessed inside that brain from that particular prey can be transferred into the Ergynue’s mind.
Habitat
Tropical areas, and moist areas are speculated to be the ideal habitats for the species. Survival in most biomes for long periods of time, seems possible although artic and desert biomes are imagined to bring difficulty.
The one observed example and first to be ever founded has claimed to be from another realm entirely. The previous habitat referred to as a ‘hell’ does not have much currently known about it, besides a high mentioned population of demons.
Diet
Ergynue, are considered and speculated to mostly be carnivores. Although, in the first examples case the species is Tehprey or recently killed is preferred over dead to the species. It also speculated, that sentient prey are often more looked upon as larger and better targets, although diet easily changes according to the environment.
Reproduction
The reproduction process may vary in Ergynue cases. The basic form of reproduction, which requires the species to remain in their birth or Ergynue form is an asexual reproduction that happens around the age of eighteen and is done internally and an egg is produced and is often pushed outward and up through the throat instead of the nether regions. During this time period, the stomach may bulge when in another form and internally the body structure is different to support the egg or eggs. The eggs may or may not be swallow again into the stomach in order to test for birth defects, if the egg survives for over a single night the child is healthy and brought back out again. Hatching is usually done the next day or so, and Ergynue rapidly mature up to a certain point especially with the help of being fed prey’s brains.
The second way and more speculator way of reproduction is if the Ergynue impregnates or is impregnated in another form. The offspring looks accordingly to the species impregnated, such as if the Ergynue were in the form of a human women it would appear like a human child, or if the mate was an anthropoid fox capable of bearing children it would appear in a similar manner for the first few years. Maturity may be slower physically, from this but once being hit the child would be able to switch between the Ergynue form and their birth form as they please. The parent excluding the Ergynue, may in fact never find out depending on the child.
Mental maturity varies among Ergynue according to various factors. It may even be achieved within a few days or weeks, often according to diet.
