This is really touching and sad! I mean, it probably didn't happen like this, it's implied in the game that Hornet was raised in Deepnest, not the palace, and there's no sign that she ever met the Hollow Knight before you fight him, but it's an interesting AU. Also, the Hollow Knight, like all Vessels, can't talk.
