Girls and boys, this is a Stephen King's week at The Line it is Drawn!I have mixed feelings about the Dark Tower series... I love the setting, the overall mood, the characters and the wild ideas... then it gets to the fifth book and beyond, and it feels like a whole different series... oh, well, King had this life-changing experience and all that, and you change a lot during the 20 plus years it took him to complete it. Still, he's probably my favorite author and even his worst book is well worth a read.
I haven't seen the movie (and I probably will despite all the bad reviews), so I kind of have the comic book version of Roland more stuck in my mind than the Hollywood's version... Jae Lee is pure genius.
Anyway... this is one of those scenarios where one character out of context solves the other one's life quest in thirty seconds...

This was literally the last suggestion I made, and one I actually had to get out of bed to post at the last minute
Depending on the topic, I tend to skew 90% of my suggestions to fit a personal theme, in this case I actually had the comic version of Roland in mind, since Marvel publishes the Dark Tower series, most of my Roland suggestions were with Marvel characters.

Again, though I'm sure Marvel Retconned it to oblivion the original silly yet serious "Rocket Raccoon" story...

Somehow, I knew they'd take a fond childhood memory and chew it up and either regurgitate it or excrete it on me...
And, no, don't plan to ever see it.Β There used to be a dollar bin at Hastings, but no such thing anymore.Β Don't even think I'll rent it.
It's really interesting - like that Conan 2011 movie - where is the "Whitewash" when you need it, when it is warranted?Β Like too bad it's SJW's wanting to whine about anything for their GroupThink's next official "Two Minutes of Hate" and nothing actually progressive.Β So they whine about movies that should have gotten non-white characters - I'm actually for that to a sane point - but then are silent when movies that have to have white characters don't.
I mean, Conan was a descendant of Kull of Atlantis.Β You can't get more definitive of a white man at that.Β And Roland was essentially Clint Eastwood in a more fantastic setting.
OH, btw, I will NOT "Steal" it nor advocate 'stealing' (illegal download) it...
IMO when you 'steal' something this ...crudtastic... you add value to it.

You gave it a lot of thought...
While they describe Roland as white and blue-eyed, without haven seen the movie, I have no problem with the casting at all... Idris Elba is as fine an actor as you could get. I just dislike all the jumble they did, mixing up the storylines seemingly without rhyme or reason... or so the critics say. I'm willing to give them a chance for the huge undertaking.
The Conan movie was bad for a lot of reasons, none of them was Jason Momoa....

Oh, on Jason for Conan, he was the best part of that movie. The problem was they should have titled the thing "Sword and the Sorcerer 2" or "Deathstalker 5" It was good Thud n' Blunder, but they needed Blood and Thunder for a proper REH tribute.
