My computer is FINALLY home - still with no internet though- and I had some free time this week, so~
I don't know if you guys remember this cutie, but it's a Nekkon adopted from *KlowW , and he really needed some love~!
Yesterday I've found the sketch of this deviation here ([link] ), and God! The sketch was so much better than the final one!
So I've gone for a revamp! And I must say I love this one so much more. :3

Like what Bolt said before, the shading really stands out, it really looks like he's standing in the light. And the fur, so fuzzy -
It's a different pose, but cute nonetheless.

Heeey, I really loved it
His faces looks a bit... I don't know, hypnotic AND hypnotized at the same time. Taking a good look at his face expression, you notice his mind is a few light years away
It's cool to notice the differences between the two "versions" of this deviation. The first is much more like "awwwnnnn", while this one 'lost' much of the previous innocence, chastity, or whatever you want to call it XP
Nevertheless, it has gained much in terms of expressivity, and the hole work looks much more professional!
And I must admit: the shading is just WOW!
It's probably really hard to "compute" (sorry, blender is driving me crazy XD) the shadows done by a light coming from such unusual direction, and on top of that is the even-more-unusual (is that correct?) perspective.

It was interesting that you mentioned the innocence thing. In the first drawing he looked waaay more innocent, but it wasn't exactly my intention. His cuteness stole a lot of the expression I wanted to achieve.

(I know I've given you a little bit of feedback live, but I thought it would be best to leave a formal comment as well.)
I remember you labelling this a WIP a while ago, and a little curiosity in the back of my head had always wondered if you would come back to it or not. As such, it's very nice to see little guy
completed, and very well done, too!
I see you've made some little modifications - the crystal on his forhead, and some of the cheek-fluff has been reduced - but it hasn't detracted from or hurt the impression of the original sketch at all. I also noticed you tucked the front paws in a touch, which I think is a wise decision; it makes the pose look much more natural given the perspective.
Looking at the picture initially, the first thing that honestly jumped out at me (aside from the eyes, but I'll address that in a moment~) is the shading! I've noticed a lot of the shading on your previous is very subtle, or very soft, where as here the boundaries of light and dark are much more crisp, and the shadow color more contrasting than usual. It lends a much more dynamic look, and really helps define some parts of the drawing (notably the fur strands). Even so, I see you still softened the shadows in strategic places, which, personally, I think helps unify the illuminated and shadowed parts of your little Nekkon here. In simple terms, it looks superb!
Yes, I see lots of comments about the eyes, but they are beautiful. They look like quicksilver, and the trademark bloom you add to the shine off the eyes only makes them look even more lovely.
I know you dislike doing backgrounds, but I have to add that you did do a very nice job on the sparkles and reflections one the water here as well~!
All in all, another lovely piece, Rosie. It's good to hear (see?) from you again after all that's transpired in the last little while.

It was technically the first time I've tried this semi-cell-shading style, so it's very, very gratifying to know it seems decent.
