Impact

A picture should always tell a story or inspire the imagination to come up with one. It should make us wonder what the world the artist has shown us is like and if it is powerful enough make us feel some sort of emotion. Though the last part may not be true for me when I look at this piece the rest of it is. There are many adjectives that would be appropriate to describe this picture; beautiful, interesting, but the one I'd have to pick is probably intriguing. This picture raises the curiosity I have and makes me want to find out more about this girl.

I love how her hair flows like pink flames and that her eyes really seem to stand out out. The darkness of the lipstick provides a good contrast to lighting that is there. The pale skin allows small details like the freckles on her body to show and I've seen plenty of artists who will sometimes make the eyebrow color the same as the hair when it shouldn't be. The circuits on her shirt depict some kind of technological element, mixed in with the neon, makes me think of a dance club with a DJ spinning their latest track.

However there are some things that I want to point out that did bother me. The headphones seemed somewhat out of place, more so the style (the earpiece seems like you drew them in a different way and it doesn't fit with the picture) and I feel like they are too big for the character. If they were meant to be ear piece like on a robot from an anime, then the band at the top seems unnecessary and the chords coming out from them kinda confuse me due to the placement. If they are supposed to be hair, then it's not really clear. The shoulder and the circuit that goes over it seem out of sync and the collar could be touched up a bit since I can kinda see the circuit lines from the neck.

That being said I do still love this picture. While the light from hair is something I've seen before, the coloring, shadow, and techno theme really make it memorable and the style that the hair was made is really awesome. I really believe that they've done some great work here.
