Description
devore (pronounced: de-vor) are essentially a space demon species.they're my closed species, so pls don't make ur own!!
they're birthed by black holes, and their sole purpose is to eat the matter in the universe.
they wander from planet to planet, eating it up slowly until there's no more resources left.
too many gathering on one area could be a problem, since they're lowkey considered universal
pests LOL. they eat n eat n leave nothing else for others. :')
they're typically humanoid!!! the main difference is obvs the lack of 'feet' n their skin. the skin
is a mash-up of fleshy parts and hard, glass-like material. the glass allows people to see through
it for their vital gases. as they're mainly made up of gas, they are v light n some can float.
they fall in usual human height range and can be anywhere between 4-6ft tall. the legendary or
god-like ones, however, can grow big enough to consume stars and galaxies whole.Β
as for their halos, they're clusters of tightly packed dark matter! it's like their piece from home.
note: horn halos count as one all together! it doesn't matter if they have 1, 2, or even
3 horns! so for the rarity count, horns (in gen) is just one. :c)

Questions:
- how are Devore born? are they born from gas expulsed out of black holes? it wouldn't be farfetched since the sand and minerals melt into glass and have gas.
- since black holes have a lot of mass, and Devore do not, are they able to control mass? for instance, destroy what's in the way by ripping apart mass and eating up what remains? perhaps by turning planets slowly into mere dust and absorbing it.
- how do they eat? is it through their mouth as humans do, or is it through some other cavity?
- what is their growth cycle like? are they born as they are, looking completely adult, or do they have a 'larval' sort of phase? do they choose their appearance (humanoid) based on whatever planet or system happens to be nearby (since you said 'typically' humanoid)? i feel like mammaries on a female Devore would be just for appearance rather than any practical value since they're made of glass and gas and not organs (at least that's what I gather)
- do their horns/halos have any other use other than for appearance? for example, balance, power containment, something of the sort?

1. they're basically born from black holes mashing up materials+gas from the stuff it sucks up! after they're formed, they get spit out LOL
2. yep! normal sized devores slowly break apart mass n eat, whereas the larger ones have power to do the same process much faster- turning it to dust.
3. they feed by absorbing 'food' into their body! i like to imagine it as like.. a coating on their body (that looks like a bruise???) that slowly fades as they take it in. some ppl interpret it as them literally eating, and either way works tbh
as for actual food- they don't rly have digestive systems but they can break down the matter to enjoy it like humans!!
4. they're usually born @ normal appearance! since age isn't really a factor in growth, some can pop out looking full adult or a child!
and yeah, it really depends on whereever they came from! some black holes are closer to more... different? looking species, so they take on more of whatever traits happen to be nearby.
5. their horns do have a purpose! but im still thinking/finalizing what they're for.
as for the halos, they're made of dark matter that came from black holes! it helps with the absorbtion process. (n i like to think of it as their lil piece from home HAHA)

I'm about to do the MYO event and stuff but I just wanted to ask because you said they're mostly humanoid like and considering not all is realistic.... elf ears? Are those ok, elves are a fantasy based humanoid so... yknow I can see that they have ears so I just thought I'd make a cute little elf themed one when it comes to ears, would that be uncommon or something or since it's a humanoid quality does it just not really matter and counts as just being a humanoid feature ?Β

Just some questions out of curiosity;
Is it possible for a Devore to have halos around one horn but not the other? Where on the scale of rarity would that be? and how about no halo at all?
But I really like the concept and they look beautiful!

they're both possible, but def rare!! (bc its just like.. not supposed to happen HAHA)
halos are always required though! even if they don't have horns, they have halos at least ;v;

would a hair halo be separate or count as 2 halos

the number of the halos don't necessarily matter, it's the placement of the halos!Β so lets say you have a devore with 3 horns!
if the devore only has halos on their horns, it counts as "1 halo", despite having 3 halos (1 per horn)
however, if the devore has halos on their horns AND their wrists, it counts as "2 halos"!! because they have halos on another part of their body!
