I have always, always wanted to draw this part of the book. Book? Yes, this comes from the book called the Legend of the Five Rings from the perspective of the Crane clan.

The Legend of the Five Rings is like the oriental version of D&D from what I've heard of (I've only read the books, never played the actual game ^^).

ANYWAY, my favorite character from the entire clan wars books is Bayushi Kachiko, the wife of the former shogun of the Scorpion clan, Bayushi Shoju. She's seductive, yet sly. And cruel in revenge. But she's known as the most beautiful woman in the Emerald Empire.

What happens in this scene that I kinda drew out is from the Crane clan, when Kakita Yoshi comes to visit the Emperor (at this time, the Scorpion clan was formerly disbanded by the newly crowned Emperor...who's slowly dying by the way...and Kachiko married the young and easily tricked emperor in order to fulfill all the revenge that she plans to do upon the emperor, and the other members of the other clans -- particularly the man who had killed her son) who is very ill, and tells Kachiko to show Yoshi that she's not what she seems to be (as in sneaky and sly...which she really is...so nobody trusts her; actually nobody in the empire trusts anybody from the Scorpion clan), which is a light cut on her back underneath her scorpion tattoo (which, I think you can't see in this...but I did draw a light mark in between the scorpion's right claw) saying that she had protected the emperor from harm.

So comes this scene where the emperor is talking to Yoshi and she just looks back, and Yoshi feels the effect that Kachiko had on all men.

Okay, that's the end of the background to this.

I know, the angle looks kinda funny...and Yoshi looks...lightly drawn than how Kachiko...mainly because I can't figure out how to do white hair without coloring (as in the book, members of the Crane have white hair) ^^. But...it's also something that I wanted to test out. Like...can I really shade? And can I get the angle right?, etc. etc.
