Thanks but I didn't trace, it was a pose reference.

Are you saying I only took the picture and altered the colors?
Everyone uses references when they start out, maybe we are seeing things very differently. I spend over 60 hours+ on this picture getting everything last and little thing right, I put a huge amount of effort on this picture, even more then any other picture iv have ever before. Just because my commissioner wanted that exact leg and hand position doesn't make it a crime, no one ever owns a pose. Maybe next time if he wanted an exact pose ill tell them to take it from other pictures instead of one. I am getting really tired of all this, just because my commissioner happened to take his ideal reference from a popular artist, I get this kind of attitude like I didn't do shit.Β

I personally wouldn't mind, iv had seen people who have but I didn't say anything lol maybe that is just me and don't see it as such a bad as long as they didn't physically take my picture and call it as their own.Β
Im sorry if I took your comment the wrong way or reacted too strongly to it. I am getting tired lolΒ

I told you to read my note but you won't look at it. I told you to keep it in notes. You want us to listen to you, but you won't listen to us. You already made your point, you don't need to keep repeating it.

She didn't trace nor did I ever ask her to, and it's customary to provide an artist with reference poses unless you want them to freestyle a random pose. If there's something we want, to respect the commissioner's time it is our job to provide them with all the details beforehand, otherwise we would just wasting time with corrections.
This is a common pose for artworks, and so long as Ayasal drew my commission using her own skills and style without tracing, then it's fine, make no mistake. That's perfectly legal and acceptable. And since a commission is a mutual consensual agreement, random outsiders have no real place to accuse or patronize her.

Tracing is copying by the lines of the artwork. I admit maybe I used the wrong word.
It is normal to provide reference poses, of course. I do commissions as well, and I would FEEL BAD if someone gave me a request to draw LIKE ANOTHER PERSON'S DRAWING. It's OK to say "I'd want her to be in a sitting position with bunnies, and her front legs to be seen" and it is NOT okay to use another person's proportions and shapes as a..."model".
Was it so necessary to :
- have the girl look that way, like the reference?
- have the girl holding something with the same hand and same fingers?
- to sit exactly the same? (don't tell me it's not the same, it won't work )
- the panties visible from the same exact angle? there are tons of other positions with visible panties available.
I can see bits of the artist's actual style, but you provided a "make it like this" reference and not a "I want my commission to have this kind of feeling with a cute girl sitting" request.
I understand it now that you purely used the drawing from PIXIV as a "wood model" you possess and you'd give a friend to draw something for you. Unfortunately, that art HAS an owner, and you should ask the one who initially drew the pose, if you can give it to someone to hmh..."reference it" for PROFIT.
posemaniacs.com/ is a great site if you want to give someone an idea of your character's pose. Seriously. Use words and description, not only an image to settle everything. At least do it for the artist, 'cause many would think that it is traced, even if you do not.
And I'm a random outsider indeed. But I didn't accuse nor patronize her. I warned her that she should be careful with requests to make a drawing extremely similar to another, since there always will be people who'll accuse without even listening. And I wouldn't blame them.
I hope you understand my point... have a cookie

Sorry, description does not suffice. There are literally countless pictures with this pose with subtle differences and it would be literally impossible to specify what I want with descriptions alone.
To answer your questions: my choice in arm position, head position, perspective, what she's holding, how she's sitting, the pantyshot angle, where she's looking at, the camera angle are all perfectly chosen for good reason, if it was slightly off I would disapprove, so yes it was very necessary. I absolutely guarantee you that if you try to find me "similar poses" as alternatives, I will tell you that your pose would be off. If I commissioned you and just said "I want my commission to have this kind of feeling with a cute girl sitting" I guarantee you it will be off. I went through countless poses of this same angle to narrow down what I wanted, so of course it's going to be precise.
Posemaniacs does not work, body position alone does not satisfy my request since it lacks camera and perspective. Furthermore you are assuming I didn't use words on top of my picture but I already did.
I appreciate and understand your concern and your point, however please understand that I also care about the artist, and since it was just a rough reference pose and not a trace, I hadn't expected such a reaction, especially since it's not commercially sold to the public (I will apologize to the pixiv artist if any offense is taken).Β I hope that anyone else who has this criticism at least understands my request now. If there's anything else you'd like to say, please send a note so we don't clutter Ayasal's comments

i don't want to rain on your parade but take a look at this
www.pixiv.net/member_illust.phβ¦
Don't you thinkΒ it's oddΒ that theΒ one ayasal just posted is similar toΒ that drawing in pixiv? The pose looks exactly the same, right?Β
I mean, sure, a lot of people can draw the same poses over and over, but even the smallest details on these two are the same,Β even their fingers!
